Welcome to the Flinders Medical Centre Community Child Care Centre, located in the serene bush-land setting of Bedford Park, Australia. Established in 1986, our not-for-profit Centre is dedicated to providing high-quality care for children aged 6 weeks to school commencement.

At the helm of our Centre is Julianne Docherty, a highly qualified and passionate early childhood educator. With her extensive background in psychology and a strong belief in the importance of relationships for children's development, Julianne has shaped our Centre's philosophy. Since joining us in 1986, she has continuously designed an early childhood program that offers children ample time and space to enjoy, learn, and grow in a socially rich and well-resourced environment.

Julianne, a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and a member of the Australian Psychological Society, is a staunch advocate for the mental health and well-being of children and their families. She has a particular interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder and stays up-to-date with the latest theories and research in psychology and cognitive neuroscience.

Working alongside Julianne is Martin, our full-time Director, who has dedicated his career to early childhood education. With his experience managing children's services in Adelaide and his extensive travels around the world, Martin brings a wealth of knowledge on cultural variations and best practices in early childhood education. He has studied in the world-renowned Reggio Emilia schools in Italy and has gained insights from schools and kindergartens in London, Hong Kong, Dublin, and China.

Martin's focus lies in the importance of science as a construct for learning. By adopting a constructivist approach and nurturing children's innate curiosity, Martin believes that meaningful discovery experiences form the foundation for building a vast bank of knowledge in each individual.

Together, Julianne and Martin have dedicated over 35 years to FMC.C.C.C.C, witnessing countless children benefit from enriching programs, forge lifelong friendships, and develop the social skills needed for a successful transition to school and beyond.
