"it was a very bad school and i still have concerns about the teachers i saw very weird and frightening stuff i had to go to a therapist for 2 years and the learning and education was the worst and when you struggled no one helped and i will never let anyone go to the school if i could stop them the immersion program didn't help me with anything it even made my high school grades worse as we learned math and science in a language you can't understand and now i am failing science as you got no help with anything and now i have been depressed and felt lonely since i don't have parents only my old granny."
"I had four children attend for many years. They ALL became very stressed during their time at Oberthur Primary School and were not supported in their learning. Two had very detrimental psychological outcomes where they began to believe they were not intelligent and developed severe anxiety around learning. At the time I had thought it was their personal circumstances that caused this but when I made the choice to move them to private schools, suddenly both of them are excelling academically and stress-free. I regret persevering so long with the school but I sincerely believed it was a good school which was going to support my children. Either the school needs to work much harder in supporting students in their learning and support teachers to provide more nurturing of their students, or the Chinese Immersion education program is only working for certain students. I would sincerely reconsider this school for your children if you do not come from a chinese-speaking background."
"This is an amazing school, I love it, the teachers are nice, there is no bullying and the Chinese immersion is brilliant"
"excellent school and very good teachers. teachers take care of students very well and there is no bullying."
"The school is blessed with a very dedicated principal, Mr Bamber, as well as a great team of teachers and assistant. The school emphasises key values like resilient from young and has put in place good procedures to manage any undesirable behaviours like bullying. The chinese immersion program is a first in WA and this does attract a significant asian student cohort. It is a good way to expose students to the chinese culture and language."
