"We stayed at the estate and food was included. Overall enjoyed the food. Some things were nicer than others. The menu is constantly varying depending on what’s available which is good because we ate here over 5 meals it was always different. The only meal that was a bit strange was the pork/ potato ribbon dish on the tasting menu but there wasn’t any pork! The wait staff didn’t know or couldn’t explain it either… other than that dish everything else was nice"
"The lunch at The Paddock was disappointing. The experience was definitely not value for money. My estimate for each of the courses, though not disclosed individually was: Starter $30, Main $55, Dessert $30. The main course I chose from the menu was steak. I was surprised that the waiter did not ask how well I wanted it cooked. However, I volunteered that I wanted my steak medium. When it came out I understood why I was not asked; calling it a steak was a significant overstatement. It would be more accurate to describe it as a steak finger as it was of similar dimensions to a fish finger. Of course with something that size, rare, medium or well done becomes a moot point. It was, of course, well done and even over done as there was charring along the edge. There were no greens and potatoes were an extra charge. What accompanied the steak finger was a small bowl with some shaved beetroot which I was instructed to slide onto my plate. The waiter must have thought I and my wife were ambidextrous as our knives were set on our left side and our forks on our right. Not the sort of serving expectation for a restaurant with such formidable pricing. My starter was mushrooms which I thought were tasty although my wife had the same courses as I had and ended up six hours later with an upset stomach, which she attributed to the mushrooms. Dessert was finger lime but again, very small serving. The restaurant was convivial, albeit noisy, and the views through the glass walls across the paddocks, pleasant. Was it worth the drive from Brisbane? The journey was pleasant enough but the destination a disappointment. Would I go back? No."
"Absolutely perfect afternoon. We opted for chefs choice and I’m so glad we did, you could feel the joy of the chefs artistry in his food. Divine to taste and unique in its creation. We all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon thanks to superb service, setting and cuisine. Even with a table of 14 exquisite dining was achieved. Thank you all."
"Service disappointed and slow, not a match with prices. Meals good with main awesome to finally a dessert at a 2 out of 5. Two waiters at odds with request for a child’s meal, one yes one no. I had to question the second waiter who flatly said no to a child’s meal. Finally a yes to a simple request. Might be useful to be on the same page. Surrounds beautiful, wine perfect but ultimately the service left us pondering the 15% surcharge on a Saturday minus the service to match. Overall a 3 out of 5."
