"Visiting Perth we were pleased to find a social dance last Friday night (4th March) but the result was disappointing. No greeting or welcome at the door from the grumpy bloke who seemed unhappy we interrupted his more important work on his computer! The floor was terrible - sticky and very hard on the legs. Music was pretty ordinary with lots of false starts with an inexperienced DJ. On a previous visit we attended a social dance here on a Tuesday afternoon run by a lady. She was welcoming, professional and played excellent music. Went to five social dances in Perth during a 10 night stay but this has to be rated the bottom of the pile for value and quality. Best value social ballroom dances in Perth are the Swan Studio in Midland on a Saturday night (4 hours for $ 15) and John Murphy Baby Boomers at the Riverton Leisureplex (3 and a half hours for $ 15 with refreshments) on a Sunday evening which are run professionally and have excellent floors to dance on with great music."
