"Had a gorgeous brunch here. Lots of vegan options. Presentation was outstanding & taste, delicious. Three meals & each one was great. I had a blue pea butterfly & berry latte that tasted as great as it looked. The Turkish delight latte was equally as nice. Service was friendly & the atmosphere relaxing."
"Very "vibey" brunch place with friendly staff. The food and coffee alone make it worth it to visit again. The place is small but the environment adds to its charm. Pictured: Such is cluck"
"Absolutely amazing atmosphere! The Mixed Bag was awesome and filled hubby and I up and set us up for a day of exploring! Would thoroughly recommend!"
"Really friendly service, good food and a very pretty little cafe. And it's the only place I've been to that served the tea with a timer to make sure it brewed properly."
"Recently found Pixie and the Hawk - and would love to know the story behind the name ! It’s a small little cafe on Henley Beach Road , and you probably wouldn’t know it’s there unless you stumbled upon it by accident ( or google things like I do ) . It’s a cozy little place lots of wood and cute little tables - or you can sit on stools next to the window and watch the traffic go by . It’s menu is a little eclectic, lots of options for different dietary needs - and a good cup of joe . The coffee they used for my almond latte was a blend called Five Senses , which is a sustainable bean from Papua New Guinea which is brewed in Melbourne. I had the Dark Horse Blend , which was dark , very smooth and slightly fruity . Very satisfying. My friend had the Turkish delight latte - and yes it really is that pink ! He said that all it needed was a small piece of the sweet next to the cup . And a piece of banana bread , which was moist and flavourful. I wanted to try something different , so decided on the Ube Slay with an apple crumble granola and an Ube anglaise , and a brûlée vanilla panacotta with fermented rhubarb. This sounds like a dessert filled with dairy , but is completely vegan . For those of you that don’t know , ube is a purple yam , quite often used in Asian desserts , and the colour is quite bright . The fermented rhubarb had a slight ginger taste , but the surprise was the apple crumble granola, which in addition to the cinnamon and nutmeg , had the addition of some tumeric , which added extra spice and depth to the taste . Really enjoyed this complex combination of flavours . The atmosphere of this place reminded me of living in inner city Brisbane about 20 years ago , quite alternative and a little funky , with staff quite happy to chat a while with you . Also enjoyed the interesting little art pieces on the wall, they gave the room a little more character. Place definitely worth a look ."
