"I suggest you think carefully before engaging the services of these accountants. I took them on in November 2022 to do two tax returns and other services. I paid their accounts promptly and they went ahead to do the returns for the previous tax year. I received a tax refund for one return from the ATO, but not the expected refund for the other. Sensing that something was wrong I asked them to find out why the missing refund. I received a reply that they would look into it, but not to expect a result for a week or so. Well after this date I had not received anything, so I repeated my request - but received no reply or refund. Eventually I contacted the ATO myself. They told me there was missing information on the return. I supplied this over the phone and a few days later received my refund. I complained to John Osborne & Associates that, apart from the error, I had been obliged to contact the ATO myself which I considered their job. I received the rudest email response of my life saying that I was paranoic, that one phone call could have sorted it out (so why didn't they call me?), and that they did not want me as a client. What had I done wrong? I believe that my polite complaint was justified, I had paid them promptly, yet I was grossly and personally insulted."
