Manning Stairs 97 Davilak Avenue, Hamilton Hill, Western Australia 6163
About the Business
Welcome to Manning Stairs, a recent addition to the City of Cockburn's list of attractions in Australia. Located at Hamilton Hill, Davilak Avenue, 97, Manning Stairs is an establishment that serves as both a point of interest and a tourist attraction.
As you make your way up the Manning Ridge, you will encounter 192 stairs that wind their way to the top. At the pinnacle, two lookouts have been constructed, providing breathtaking views of the Darling Scarp and Cockburn Sound. These lookouts offer a unique perspective of the surrounding natural beauty, including Jervoise Bay and the stunning Darling Scarp.
Situated within the picturesque Manning Park Reserve, Manning Stairs and lookouts are surrounded by a serene atmosphere. The reserve also features a charming lake, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a peaceful picnic. Additionally, the park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
The Manning Stairs are a popular spot for exercise enthusiasts, offering a challenging and rewarding workout. However, please note that we recommend using the stairs during daylight hours only, as no lighting is provided. With 192 steps, 5 landings, and 4 seats, the reconstituted limestone and cement stairs are Cockburn's version of Perth's famous Jacob's Ladder.
Furthermore, the City of Cockburn has recently completed the construction of the Manning Park stairway, connecting the southern car park at Manning Lake to the eastern lookout. This trail also connects to the recently upgraded western lookout, creating a seamless experience for visitors. The stairs are part of the Davilak Heritage Trail, which begins at Azelia Ley Homestead and winds its way up the ridge towards the lookouts.
At Manning Stairs, we take pride in acknowledging the traditional owners of the land. We pay our respects to the Nyungar people of Beeliar boodja and their ongoing connection to the land, waters, and culture. We honor the Elders, past, present, and emerging, who have cared for this country for generations.
Come and experience the beauty of Manning Stairs and lookouts, where nature and history converge to create an unforgettable experience. Whether you're seeking a challenging workout, a peaceful picnic, or simply a moment of serenity, Manning Stairs has something for everyone. Plan your visit today and discover the hidden gem of Hamilton Hill.

"A jewel on the crown of South western suburbs of Perth plus a series of hidden waypoints scattered throughout for Anytime Orienteering (download maps). If you're interested in hiking it is useful to learn or sharpen your navigation and map reading skills."
"Climbing up Manning Stairs at 16°C can’t go wrong. Blessed with cool weather n great beautiful sights…. There are many leads into the Beeliar Regional park too that are rather defined n filled with limestones. Extremely satisfying morning walk. #handphonecamera #seenthruakhandphone #perthselfdrive03"
"Great park to run around and 190 odd stairs to walk up! Views at the top as well. Great place."
"Perfect workout and beautiful lake and sunrise view."
"Great spot for a late afternoon jog or some early morning fitness routines. The stairs are challenging and serve as a great method of high intensity training. The views up top are stunning - sweeping over Coogee Beach and the Indian Ocean. Watch out for snakes in the summer months."
