About the Business
Welcome to Canungra Op Shop, located on Lawton Lane in the beautiful town of Canungra, Australia. Established in 2008, our humble op shop has become an iconic part of the community. At first glance, it may appear to be a small country-town store, but don't be fooled! Step inside and you'll discover two sheds filled with an abundance of pre-loved treasures.
Not only do we serve the local community, but we also extend our reach to overseas projects through our fundraising efforts. Locally, we have provided much-needed items for various sporting groups and have helped individuals in times of need. On an international scale, we have supplied clothing, medical supplies, and other equipment to Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands. Additionally, we proudly sponsor over 20 children in India and Nepal.
Do you find yourself overwhelmed with "stuff"? You're not alone - many of us do. However, there is a growing trend towards a more streamlined existence. One of the challenges in achieving a clutter-free life is deciding what to do with unwanted items. Donating to charity is a valuable option, and at Canungra Op Shop, we strive to salvage and sell anything in good condition. Items that aren't suitable for sale are given away or sold to recycling companies, reducing our impact on landfills.
Life is unpredictable, and we all experience times when we could use a helping hand. Whether you're looking for a unique treasure, want to support a worthy cause, or simply want to declutter your home, Canungra Op Shop is here for you. Visit us today and join our community in making a positive difference, one donation at a time.

"It has everything you could expect in a small town Op Shop. And the staff are charming."
"Great little op shop, meets the needs of this little town. Want something.... ask staff."
"Aimed to buy a full set of crockery that was on the shelf. Needed assistance and would prefer staff help us take this from the shelf and pack it. Waited... Waited... Waited longer .. could not get any assistance as staff were too busy chatting. Not even making sales etc. Brought a couple of other smaller items to the counter, waited some more... finally got some service. Felt a little awkward as we had an audience. Us pesky customers were interrupting the local gossip. They were standing there waiting for us to be gone so they could continue chatting. The items, which were clearly labelled with a price gun, were suddenly three times the marked price. Someone had a made a "mistake" we were told. Not that they were expensive, but there is a principle here (and I believe actual retail laws). Having worked in retail before, we were required to sell items at the marked price. Even if somehow an error had been made. Not make up alternative prices at the checkout. Loss of revenue for the store and other issues caused for customers due to this unpleasant experience. So... they are likely volunteers... Can they at least do the job they are supposed to do? Maybe they need better training and instruction? Have never had such a poor shopping experience at any store, let alone an op shop. Cannot say a nice thing about this place unfortunately. This was so bad I felt the review was warranted in the hope that some type of management might take note and make appropriate improvements."
"Always beautiful treasures to be found have limit of people in shop to keep us safe lovely friendly volunteers great prices"
