About the Business
Welcome to Thebarton Aquatic Centre, a premier establishment and point of interest located at 1 Meyer Street, Torrensville, Australia. We are delighted to inform you that a recent feasibility study conducted at TAC has confirmed the scope of work for an exciting refurbishment project.
In collaboration with the South Australian Government, we have received confirmation of a start date for this essential work. As a result, it will be necessary to temporarily close TAC to complete the refurbishment. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but assure you that this closure is crucial for the enhancement of our facilities.
Thebarton Aquatic Centre will cease operations on Saturday, 30th September 2023, and remain closed for approximately 10 months until mid-2024. Our last day of trading will be Friday, 29th September 2023. However, until the closure date, our pool and swim school will continue to operate as usual.
We understand that these changes may disrupt your routine, and we want to ensure you have alternative options available during the closure period. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us for further information and assistance.
For more details about the refurbishment project, we invite you to visit the project website at dit.sa.gov.au/tac. You can also contact the Department for Infrastructure and Transport project team, who are overseeing the works, on 1800 942 974 or via email at [email protected].
We would like to express our gratitude to you, our valued customers, for your continued support. Your patience and understanding during this transformative period are greatly appreciated. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you back to a revitalized and improved Thebarton Aquatic Centre in mid-2024.
Thank you once again for being a part of our aquatic community.

Reviews
"Definitely an outdated facility but certainly has potential as some of the staff are great! There are some that you can tell are passionate about their jobs. Hopefully it gets a much needed upgrade soon."
"The staff were rude and mean to my children. I never saw a staff member smiling in a very old place. Every staff member told me a different policy. I seriously suspected that they were racist."
"Really old and dirty facilities, pool has loose and sharp tiles. Accidentally got cut by one of the tile whilst swimming and the first aid people didn’t do anything expect put pool water on it. Is this the treatment all the time?? You could be swimming in people blood and other bodily fluids.."
"Wonderful instructors, very good with teaching the kids swim skills. Great holiday program too. However, one of the reception staff can be quite rude and the building could do with a renovation."
"Since having serious knee surgery (two total replacements) I looked around for a local facility which had a Hydrotherapy pool. This community swimming centre has one such, with a good ramp and plenty of room. Water is always plenty warm. The Hydro Pool sometimes doubles as a teaching place for babies and toddlers ( and their parents). So it can get a little full. It doesn't bother me, in fact I quite enjoy watching infants becoming water safe, and I just get on with doing my exercises. I have latterly taken to going there by bus. (a person with new knees can't drive for 8 weeks!)The B10 which traverses South Road stops within a 4-5 minute flat walk of the Centre. Driving there is plenty of parking There is also a Children's Pool (shallow), and an Olympic sized pool. But there is no diving pool. The facility is dated. But works well"
