Founded in 1863, our Club House stands proudly on this historic site, with its main structure fronting North Terrace remaining virtually unchanged. However, significant renovations have taken place over the years, including the addition of the Annexe in 1963 and recent refurbishments to enhance our members' experience.

To become a member of The Adelaide Club, individuals must be invited to stand for election by a Proposer and Seconder who have known them for several years. These members vouch for the candidate's suitability for membership and ensure their support in the ballot process by the general membership.

We have specific dress standards in place to maintain the Club's elegant atmosphere. In the General Club House, men are required to wear a jacket and tie, while ladies should adhere to an equivalent standard of dress. Tailored pants are permitted for ladies. Downstairs@165, our more casual dining area, allows for optional jackets and ties, but still requires a tailored, collared shirt, trousers, and closed shoes. Sportswear, denim, and polo shirts are not permitted in any area of the Club.

The Adelaide Club boasts several dining areas to cater to different preferences. Our traditional Dining Rooms offer a silver-service experience, while the contemporary-styled Annexe on the Second Floor provides fine dining options. For a more relaxed atmosphere, the recently renovated Basement Downstairs@165 area offers a modern bistro-style menu, with a beautiful Courtyard atrium and a striking 'green wall'.

For those seeking accommodation, The Adelaide Club offers a range of options. Our Deluxe Suite overlooks the gardens of Government House, providing a serene setting. Additionally, we have 2 Junior Suites and 6 Deluxe King Bedrooms, all equipped with en-suite bathroom facilities. Members can enjoy fully cooked breakfasts from Monday to Friday, and on weekends, a complimentary In-room Continental Breakfast Box is provided when Downstairs@165 is unavailable for a la carte breakfast. All rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi connection, a mini-bar, and tea and coffee making facilities. Secure parking is also available for a fee.
