At Cockburn Medical Centre, we prioritize the well-being of our patients. If your doctor determines that you need a physical examination, we will schedule an appointment with a doctor who will be wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure your safety. If you have symptoms of an infection along with another health issue, our receptionists will provide you with a telehealth booking. This allows the doctor to assess your problems remotely.

In light of the current circumstances, we are offering telehealth consultations through video or phone calls. Our team will book a specific time for your GP to call you, so please ensure your phone is charged, on, and near you during that time. If your GP decides an in-person visit is necessary, they will provide you with a scheduled time to come to the clinic.

We are now able to refer patients for COVID-19 tests at private pathology providers. After a telehealth appointment, we can organize the test on your behalf. To see one of our doctors, appointments are necessary. Most appointments typically take 10 to 15 minutes, but if you anticipate needing more time, please inform our receptionist when you call. While we primarily operate as a private billing practice, we do offer bulk billing for children under the age of 16 during weekday appointments. Please note that for children between 12-16 years, long or complex appointments may incur a gap fee at the doctor's discretion. We also provide billing options for pension and concession card holders, and all DVA card holders are directly billed to DVA.

Please be aware that each appointment is 10 minutes long and for one patient only. If you are booking for multiple patients, kindly choose one appointment time per patient. Additionally, full private fees apply to appointments booked on Saturdays.

In cases of severe illness where a patient is unable to visit the surgery, our doctors may, at their discretion, arrange to come to their regular patient's home.
