"We had a lovely buffet at the Turban They had a good variety of dishes Starters were so tasty Tandoori chicken was tender and tasty. Their curries were very good especially goat and fish curries tasted yummy. Likewise their veg starters were good too. Loved their Tandoori Mushroom. And finished with four desert. Overall Best buffet tasted so far."
"My husband and I were quite skeptical at first about having dinner here after reading some of the negative reviews. We've just moved from interstate and new to the area. Since this is the only Indian restaurant closest to us, my husband decided to give it a go. We know too well that bad reviews online can be biased, misleading and often time written by bored trolls/competitors. As a couple who travels across Australia and the world to enjoy good food, we know taste is subjective and we won't know for certain until we try. Glad we gave it a try! The ambience of this restaurant is lovely, with dim lights and colour scheme that give off a fine dining vibe. The table was already set up, which is brilliant. It was a quiet Tuesday evening but there were a few other couples and family enjoying their meal. A good sign to see. We ordered Butter Chicken, Malai Kofta, Rice and Butter Naan. Everything served was delicious and very generous in quantity. Their pricetag may be slightly higher than some of their competitors, but it's justifiable considering the portion and quality. Quality comes with a price, no doubt. No complaints whatsoever. We gave specific instructions on how we preferred our naan and we are so delighted to report that the server and chef took our request into consideration, not once but twice. Yup, even though the naan serving was generous, with how delicious it tasted, we had to go in for another one! My husband is an exceptionally fussy eater. He throws away food if it's not up to his standard. He's been in the culinary scene himself, so he does set an unusually high standard when it comes to the food served to him. This evening, he licked the gravy clean off both the bowls - a sign that the food was truly tasty. One of the gentleman who served us this evening, a bald guy in black top, (silly and rude of us to not get his name) brought us something complimentary from the kitchen while waiting for our mains to be served. This was truly a kind gesture although it was uncessary as we did not have to wait long for the mains to come. But a gesture that certainly did not go unnoticed and very much appreciated. It's these little things that sets your average Indian restaurant apart from one that has class. Indian restaurants are mostly notorious for trying to rip you off or short change you. But The Turban is an exception. They do go above and beyond to serve you the food you get on your table. This is coming from a couple who has tried various Indian restaurants across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia and many other countries. If they keep up this service and consistency, I am sure they will have a solid few more decades ahead of them. Our first trip but certainly not our last. Cheers to the lovely lady in the black top who served us with a huge smile on her face. Contrary to what one of the other reviewer said, I think they treat you just as nicely regardless you are a regular or a newbie."
"Admittedly I haven’t been in years however, I returned this evening and they STILL do the BEST Korma a fellow English person could ask for!! I came for my brothers birthday, they decorated the table and went above and beyond with their service. Including items into the buffet as extra when they didn’t need too. Absolutely amazing food & service. I’ll be back sooner than I have been. Thank you guys - you did an incredible job and made us all feel so welcome xxxx"
"My Favourite Restaurant, great selection of food. Friendly service and reasonable price."
"Sadly the worst curries we have ever eaten. The sauces were watery as hell! Tasted like an amateur slow cooker/crock pot curry. No flavour. The butter chicken also has the watery sauce, not at all creamy. The chicken itself was awful quality. Tendon and grissel all throughout. The lamb vindaloo was the only reasonable sauce however the lamb was dry as hell. Very unimpressed, we through out the whole $127 order. Still very much looking for a good curry in the city of Melville."
