Welcome to Kapinara Primary School, a renowned establishment located in the picturesque suburb of City Beach, Australia. Situated on Catesby Street, just a short drive from Perth city, our school offers a tranquil environment with sweeping ocean views.

At Kapinara, our mission is to develop resilient children who treat themselves and others with respect, love learning, behave with integrity, and think critically and creatively. This philosophy is deeply ingrained in our school community, and we strive to nurture these qualities in every student.

The name "Kapinara" has a fascinating origin. For many years, it was believed that "kap" meant water in the Swan River Nyungar language group, while "inara" meant "over there" in a Kimberley language group. However, recent discussions with Aboriginal Language Centres and Swan River Nyungar elder, Mr Neville Collard, have revealed a more culturally and geographically accurate translation. "Kapi" indeed means water, but "nara" refers to cupping water in the hands or the presence of a waterhole. Both parts of the translation are Nyungar and hold significant meaning.

Since our establishment in 1967, Kapinara Primary School has been dedicated to providing exceptional education to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We believe in fostering high standards of student achievement while also prioritizing the positive health and wellbeing of our students, staff, and the wider community.

In addition to our rigorous academic curriculum, we offer a range of cross-curricular programs that enrich the learning experience. Our students have the opportunity to explore their creativity through Visual Arts, Music, and Japanese language classes. We also encourage physical fitness and offer programs such as Swimming Club and Running Club. After-school activities further enhance the learning journey for our students.
