"came here with friends for dinner, goat curry was the highlight, the meat was so beautifully soft and flavoursome, the best goat curry I've had!! my only gripe is that the vegetarian entree sizes could have been bigger for the price, I think we were a bit disappointed with only 5 small mushrooms for 5 of us! a few more pieces of onion bhaji would have been good too. as 3 of the group were vegetarian it felt unfair for the chicken entree of 5 large pieces to be so much more substantial than the 5 small pieces of mushroom entree, I felt bad :'') the quality of the entrees were great though, the vegetarian main curries were nice to dip with the well-flavoured garlic naan. the drinks were enjoyable, I'd like to try the mango lassi sometime. the waitress brought me a takeaway container free of charge which I appreciated. at $52pp it was a good meal but yeah would have appreciated more generous portions for the vegetarian entrees! to be fair maybe what we had wasn't the best representation, I'd be interested to try the set menu sometime."
"Really yummy food. We had one cocktail a beer two juices, 2 rice, naan, butter chicken, pork vindaloo and a goat curry. All faultless. Wasn’t super busy which surprised me as food was great. Try the Gooseberry Hill cocktail."
"Nice Indian restaurant with lots of smiles and quirks. Love the alcoholic pani puri. It's a hollow thin walled deep fried dough. It gets cracked at the top and usually a thin minty spicy concoction poured into the cracked top of ball. Enters your mouth straight... I have had that too... not only the conventional pani puri, I have had the alcoholic version too. Pretty darn good. Had the barramundi in banana leaf and palak paneer with jeera rice. The fish was fresh and additionally the banana leaf smell and taste enhance the taste of the barramundi. The palak paneeer was awesome and wholesome wth 'spinachy' goodness. Loved the cheese that came with the palak paneer. By the way, 'paneer' means cheese. The staff were so welcoming and smiley. Atmosphere was beautiful for people watching in Northbridge. Highly recommended for Indian food lovers with a quirky touch"
"Have always been wanting to come here for awhile and finally got the chance tonight. I’ll be completely honest though, I was fairly disappointed with the dishes. While the atmosphere and service was great, the food was really underwhelming. We ordered Pani Puri, Beef Samosa, Signature Auntie G Chicken, Barramundi in Banana Leaf and an Eggplant dish, along with some basmati rice, roti and pappadum. I really enjoyed the Pani Puri, but the rest is below average. Samosa pastry was too thick, Barramundi was too soft, Eggplant was overly mushy (basically a puree). But generally my main complain was they were really bland. When I think of Indian dishes I expect rich flavour and explosion of spices. But this was not what I’m getting. It was to the point where I ate my dishes simply because I have paid for it. As much as I tried, I just could not enjoy them. Both me and my wife unanimously agreed that we had a much better Indian food at our local Indian restaurants, that would cost almost half the price. Not sure if we came at the wrong night because this place is highly reviewed. And I really did have high expectation. But based on our personal experience, we’d rather try another place. But then again, your experience may vary. So I encourage you to try for yourself as ours might be an isolated experience. And I certainly hope that is the case."
"The most delicious Gulab Jamun I’ve ever had! Some items were a bit hit and miss though ~ like the Samosa was not great and did not even come out hot. Onion bhaji, goat curry & naan bread was delicious though. The punch bowl was not worth it as it was 90% ice. Overall, a good experience."
