During the testing process, a qualified practitioner will insert a swab into the back of your throat and through your nose. This procedure is quick and lasts less than a minute, although it may cause mild discomfort. The swab sample will then be taken to a laboratory for testing to determine the presence of the virus.

We have implemented appropriate physical distancing measures and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for all visitors.

If you are feeling unwell or displaying symptoms of COVID-19, we recommend staying home and seeking further information from the HealthyWA website or calling the coronavirus (COVID-19) information helpline.

Once your test is complete, you will receive an SMS within three business days notifying you of a negative result. In the case of a positive result, you will receive guidance on immediate actions to take and additional information from the Department of Health.

If you require COVID-19 testing for travel purposes, you can easily purchase the tests at consumer.healius.com.au. We will then email you a Pathology Request form that entitles you to COVID-19 testing for travel.

Please note that COVID-19 testing for travel is considered commercial pathology and is not reimbursable by Medicare. However, some health funds and travel insurance policies do cover the cost of testing. When purchasing from Healius, you will receive an invoice suitable for health fund and travel insurance claims.

For COVID-19 Real Time RT-PCR Test, you can visit our Respiratory Drive-through clinics without an appointment. However, if you require both the COVID-19 Real Time RT-PCR Test and IgM Antibody Test, you will need to make an appointment by calling 9317 0826.

Once your test is complete, we will send you a PDF of your negative test result via email. The attached PDF will be protected by an 8-digit password. If you have not received your result, please contact our Data Entry Supervisor at 9317 0999.

Our current turnaround time is approximately 24 hours, but this can vary depending on the distance between the COVID-19 Collection Center and the laboratory, local outbreaks, and demand.
