About the Business
Welcome to Elizabeth South Primary School, the first public school established in Elizabeth, Australia in 1956. Over the past five years, our school has undergone a transformation, embracing inclusive education in a comfortable, calm, and friendly learning environment.
At Elizabeth South Primary School, our vision is guided by the Elizabeth South Primary School Learning Code. This code emphasizes the importance of being powerful learners, taking pride in our work, being safe, respectful, and united as a team. These principles influence our expectations, decision-making, and behaviors, ensuring that every student can reach their full potential.
Our school improvement priority from 2019 to 2022 is Reading, and we believe that achieving our targets is a shared responsibility. We also prioritize student wellbeing, following the trauma-sensitive Berry Street Education Model. This approach helps students develop a strong understanding of their bodies and how they respond to stress, through the five components of the model: Body, Relationship, Engagement, Stamina, and Character. Our commitment to student wellbeing is further supported by the Positive Education Model, which we have embedded over the past four years.
Elizabeth South Primary School offers a range of specialist programs, including the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen/Garden Program, Health & Physical Education, and The Arts. We are also fortunate to have Musica Viva running a residency program with our students, providing opportunities for musical development. Additionally, our language other than English is AUSLAN (Sign Language), integrated into all learning areas and taught by our classroom teachers.
Our school prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere and strong wellbeing focus. Our staff members are a united and collegiate team, dedicated to the success and happiness of our students. To support student wellbeing, we have created dedicated spaces such as the Wellbeing Hub, Rainforest area, Nature Play, Garden, and the Chicken Coop.
Currently, our enrolment stands at 179 students, with eight mainstream classes and two Area Resource Special Classes. Our school has an ICSEA score of 880 and is classified as a Category 1 on the Department for Education Index of Community Socio-educational Advantage. Our student population is diverse, with 45% representing various cultural backgrounds. We are proud to have 20% Aboriginal students and 30% students with disabilities, including those in our special classes. Approximately 90% of our students are eligible for school card.
At Elizabeth South Primary School, we are committed to providing a high-quality education in a nurturing and inclusive environment. We invite you to join our school community and experience the difference for yourself.

Reviews
"All four of my children attended/attend this Primary School from 23 yr old down to my 10 yr old I would never consider putting them elsewhere. My kids are Indigenous and have always been supported by staff with the school engaging with Cultural Events where possible. Most of the staff at this school are absolutely amazing."
"it was a really good school, great teachers, great work, but the students aren't so nice"
"I knew many people that went to school here. I think they are all either dead now or in prison."
"My kids love it"
