Devastatingly, I found myself being fired from my job, leaving me without a bonus, without a job, and with a cheque I couldn't even cash for another month. The shame and disappointment weighed heavily on my shoulders as I left the office, avoiding eye contact with my colleagues. It was a turning point in my life, fueling a fire within me.

Determined never to be in such a vulnerable position again, I made a promise to myself that night. I vowed to create a life where no one could have such power over me. The question then arose: How could I earn a living? In South Africa, dead-end jobs were the only option for university dropouts like myself. However, I possessed a unique gift - a natural aptitude for numbers and a mind wired for mathematics.

In response to this gift, I developed my own tax and accounting systems to assist my clients in preparing and filing their taxes. The overwhelming response was astonishing. Within the first year, I was already helping 150 clients, with more seeking my assistance every day. I became well-versed in tax challenges, offering services at a fraction of the cost compared to others in the industry.

With over 1,500 clients, my business flourished. However, in 1997, circumstances forced me to seek a new beginning. After my wife and daughter fell victim to local violence, we decided to find safety and settled in the beautiful city of Perth, Australia. It was here that I discovered a community with similar needs to those I had left behind.

Surprisingly, Australia lacked a system like mine, and there was a lack of affordable assistance with taxes. Determined to bridge this gap, I faced a new challenge.
