About the Business
Welcome to The University of Notre Dame Australia, located at 32 Mouat Street in Fremantle. As an establishment and point of interest, our university offers an exceptional educational experience rooted in the rich tradition of liberal arts.
With campuses in Fremantle, Broome, and Sydney, Notre Dame is proud to host over 12,000 students from coast to coast. Our commitment to providing a top-notch education is reflected in the outstanding student experience and graduate outcomes we consistently achieve.
In fact, we are thrilled to announce that Notre Dame has been ranked as the number one university in Australia for overall employment of graduates, according to the 2021 Graduate Outcomes Survey-Longitudinal. This recognition speaks to the quality of education and preparation our students receive, ensuring their success in the workforce.
At Notre Dame, we strive to address societal needs and make a positive impact. To tackle the chronic shortage of psychologists, we have introduced new courses specifically designed to train professionals in this field. We are proud to partner with Act Belong Commit, a mental health initiative, to further support the well-being of our students and the wider community.
Our commitment to collaboration extends beyond Australia. We have recently forged a new partnership with St Mary's University College Belfast, fostering international connections and enriching the educational experience for our students.
We also value and celebrate our rich cultural heritage. Professor Peter Yu, a prominent figure, advocates for economic determination among Aboriginal People, and we support his efforts to empower and uplift indigenous communities.
Furthermore, our dedication to preserving history is evident in the restoration of our Law Library, which has revealed hidden stories and artifacts that shed light on the past.
Whether you are a prospective student, a current student, or an alum, The University of Notre Dame Australia offers a truly exceptional educational journey. Join us as we continue to provide a transformative education in the liberal arts tradition and shape the future of our nation and beyond.

"Notre Dame University has gone seriously downhill recently. Terrible communication from the office, no response to emails; little response to calls. Some great teachers remain there, but the majority are not up to it. Lecturers and tutors regularly show up late or not at all. When they do come, many just read off a slideshow; many have poor English and are difficult to understand. It’s a shame! Great campus in the heart of Fremantle. I wonder what has gone so wrong."
"Enrollment difficulties, 100% Both my daughter and I am have been trying to enroll for over a month. It is so hard I am about to give up!"
"I'm commencing semester two this year for my postgraduate degree. The application progress was really straight-forward and smooth, had tons of support from the university's help centre. I hope my study experience will be just as smooth."
"A beautiful place to study and commute to. With heritage listed buildings placed in close proximity to pristine swimming beaches, good coffee shops and book nooks, Notre Dame even shuts down the whole of Mouat street to make way for market stalls, club spaces and activities for their annual bustling Open Day. There are often food trucks and student buskers in the beautiful courtyard outside of St. Teresa's library, with pastoral care and mentoring opportunities close by. Though there is little parking on campus, plenty can be found a short distance away in residential streets (often free for up to 2-4 hours). Most spaces are wheelchair accessible and a cycle of constant renovations keeps Notre Dame pushing towards the balance of heritage and modernity, with major recent renovations to the student hall, Prindiville Hall. Some administration systems remain to be updated, such as a timetable signup system that forces students to sign up on a first-in-best-dressed basis, and weak wifi in some classrooms and every day between 10am and 3pm. (In the School of Education, anyway) the faculty have always been helpful and kind beyond their means. Student life is busy and highly social even in class, actively giving students opportunities to meet, collaborate with and connect with classmates. Some specialisation units in the Bachelor of Education course require revisiting in their relevancy to the modern teacher and subsequent practices in efficiency of delivery. The relationships and professional connections Notre Dame provide (through the structure of their Education courses, specifically) are valuable assets when eventually entering the industry. The warm social culture, extended practicum opportunities, closely available support networks and welcoming faculty place Notre Dame as a gem amongst Australian tertiary education providers in the education industry."
