About the Business
Welcome to Harbour Theatre, a beloved institution that has been entertaining the people of Fremantle and its surrounding suburbs since 1963. Founded by a group of passionate amateurs, led by the talented director James Quinn, Harbour Theatre quickly became a point of interest for theater enthusiasts in the area.
Our humble beginnings saw us take residence in the theatrette on the upper floor of the Evans Davies Civic Library in South Terrace, Fremantle. Though the conditions were primitive, our boundless enthusiasm allowed us to overcome any obstacles. The group grew rapidly, and we soon found ourselves producing a diverse range of plays that captivated audiences.
From gripping dramas to side-splitting comedies, mysterious whodunits to heart-wrenching tragedies, and outrageous farces to thrilling murder mysteries, Harbour Theatre has become known for its versatility and commitment to delivering quality performances. Our dedicated team of volunteers, who manage the theatre on a not-for-profit basis, ensures that all proceeds from our productions are reinvested into the club. This allows us to continue offering exceptional community theatre experiences to the residents of Fremantle and the surrounding suburbs.
Located in the picturesque Mosman Park on Lochee Street, Harbour Theatre is perfectly situated between the river and the sea. Our venue provides a warm and inviting atmosphere, creating an intimate setting for our audiences to fully immerse themselves in the magic of live theatre. Whether you're a seasoned theatergoer or new to the world of stage productions, we guarantee an unforgettable experience that will leave you wanting more.
Join us at Harbour Theatre and become a part of our rich history and vibrant community. With decades of experience, a passion for storytelling, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, we are dedicated to bringing the best of theatre to the people of Australia.

"Great show as always."
"Venue was comfortable, staff were lovely and the acting was superb. The play was interesting but very wordy and I couldnt understand the way the actress playing Tomasina spoke so I ended up being a bit puzzled about exactly was happening. It wont put me off coming to other productions though. I hope you see this as respectful feedback"
