Reviews
"Just on entry I was already put off. The smell on entry is horrific, no fresh popcorn smell like in previous years where you just wanted to purchase popcorn. No pricing at kiosk so did not end up purchasing anything. The smell inside the theatre was even worse than the lobby. It had a strong mildew smell. Seats are soiled and disgusting. The price paid for tickets is definitely not worth it."
"$23 for an Adult and $17 per Child so two adults and three children you do the math it’s bloody expensive. No pricing at all on display at the candy bar, that means it’s so expensive they are hiding the prices. Popcorn kernel are so cheap to buy the mark up would 1000% plus. Male Toilets are old and grubby and no way to dry hands as the two hand dryers are useless. Cinema was 1/3 full on a Saturday night and based on the prices I am not surprised. Also pretty sure a woman in front of me paid $40 for 4 choc bombs, that is extortion in my opinion. I can see cinemas going the same way as video stores based on these prices."
"Unfortunately the cinema has really gone downhill. The toilets were absolutely filthy, the seating area was the same, the popcorn was extremely salty that we couldn't eat it. We asked for some new popcorn but we were advised that's just how their popcorn is brought in. I only saw one staff member the whole time who was a young female which is not safe for the night time sessions! Will be avoiding this cinema unfortunately. Also seems you need to take out a small loan to go to the movies these days, why so expensive??"
"Hoyts Joondalup has unfortunately not progressed from it's Grand Cinema roots. The chairs are as basic as they always were, and the theatre itself had a mildew smell. After being spoil with luxury of Hoyts Karrinyup, it is hard to justify anything less, especially considering the same cost."
"Hoyts may have taken over Grand Cinemas but the cinema we were in hadn't been refitted so it didn't have recliner seats and it was old and smelly. The staff were nice and it was easy to purchase tickets and food. However if it was busy it wouldn't have been because there is only one self serve kiosk. I would prefer to drive to Karrinyup for a better overall movie experience."
