"Initially I hadn't even planned to go to ComfortStyle but had been expecting to buy a frame from a shop that specialised in beds. I poked my head in, not expecting much. They didn't have a huge range of bed frames but the staff were pleasant and helpful and not pushy at all and showed me a couple of beds that seemed to fit my very specific requirements. Unfortunately the one I was interested was 7 weeks away on a ship. I did look elsewhere but no other bed shop had what I wanted so I went back to ComfortStyle, where I was quoted a price that was at a discount to the display price. I still didn't purchase then, but visited a day or two later after thinking it over, and a different salesperson was still happy to honour the earlier quoted discounted price so I paid a deposit. I admit I was a little perturbed when I happened to look at the Invoice once I was at home to discover it was a Lay-By form and not an invoice at all. Therefore, please be aware that even if your item is not in stock and you have no guaranteed date-of-arrival, ComfortStyle will still require you to pay it off - this was not explained to me when I agreed to purchase and paid my deposit. If it had been a very expensive item I would have been unhappy about this, as I have heard of a couple of companies going bust in the Eastern States recently after asking their customers for full payments for items that never existed. So, I think ComfortStyle needs to be more upfront about the 'deposit' for an item not in stock actually being a deposit on a lay-by and not a standard deposit where the full price will be paid when the items arrives in stock. Anyway, when the shipping was delayed further than 7 weeks and no one phoned me I got a little worried but at the 8 week point phoned to ask about it and was told it was another week away. I then asked them if I could change the size of frame I'd ordered to another size and they said that would be fine, which I was happy about and was very decent of them. Again, no one actually phoned me when it did arrive - I waited another 2 weeks and phoned to ask, and the salesperson I spoke to then was appalled that I hadn't been informed it was available and ready for delivery. Once that got sorted, delivery and assembly was made at a time convenient to me and the delivery guys came when they said they would. The only other issue I had, apart from the lay-by issue, was that the assemblers did not leave the instruction manual or the Allen key behind when they left, which I didn't notice straight away. Someone at ComfortStyle then emailed me the instructions, but I had to go in-store to pick up a replacement Allen key, which was inconvenient as I don't have a car. So I was tossing up between a 4 star and a 5 star rating - in the end I have gone for 5 stars generally as they deserve extra credit for allowing me to change the size of bed frame at the last minute, but with the caveats about lay-by and not being informed when my item had arrived, and not being left the instructions and Allen key (the latter which was the fault of the deliverers/assemblers really)."
