"Delighted I made the detour to visit Flour and Chocolate, about 30min before they closed on a Thursday afternoon. Needed a special selection of treats for afternoon tea, and there were (luckily!) plenty to choose from. Small options and full cakes. Staff were brilliantly helpful, and genuinely kind. The person who took care of me seemed so happy with my selection and offered genuine wishes of enjoyment. Cakes were awesome, and I had decent vegan and flourless options. Have additional pantry items, including pasta, relishes, chocolate and bickies, nuts, and some preserves. Should return and enjoy some savoury snacks in the gorgeous covered patio. Wish I’d taken more photos! One of the few places I’ve seen a good looking Paris Brest."
"What a hidden gem this is! They’ve created their own little piece of patisserie-heaven in this otherwise uninspired industrial area. Their little garden is already a nice entry, but wait until you see the inside of this shop. They have a large range of freshly baked goodies and even your loyal pet-friend is not forgotten. We ordered a savoury sandwich with egg salad, different pastries and in addition I bought some pasta, pasta sauce and dog cookies. It is not the cheapest store in town but the quality of everything is just a-ma-zing! And for someone that lived in Paris and is a patisserie-addict with high standards, I was not disappointed at all! The people working there were very friendly which added a plus to our experience. The bread is unlike your regular Aussie bread and resembles more the European style of bread with its delicious taste and texture. The sweet pastries were just divine with the crumbly outside you expect and the soft, rich and creamy inside. My apple crumble one was a 10 out of 10! Please do yourself and your tastebuds a favour and visit this place. They have a little (heated in winter) seated area where you can sit and enjoy your food and drinks if you want the complete experience."
"Great selection of patisseries and super yummy vanilla slice, gelato and coffee."
"Went for a basic sounding pie. It wasn't labelled but I think the staff told me it's a beef brisket pie. At $9.20 (same price all flavours?) this was pricier than the average of pies I've had. It had beef mince and cheese, a slightly gooey sauce & a nice peppery kick. Went down quite well. I also got to try some of the croque monsieur my friend ordered. It was quite dark but still had nice flavours of cheesy and hammy goodness. There's a nice sheltered seating area outside where you can enjoy your purchases. This shop is rather out of the way for me so I'm not sure if/when I'll visit next, but if I do return I'll try to plan to have some of their gelato too."
