Family Practice at Burpengary Burpengary, Queensland 4505

"I feel it's unfair to the other doctors and staff here to leave such a low rating, so I'm making a disclaimer now to say this review is a reflection of my experience today with one single doctor. I will not name and shame, so the owners can contact me privately if you wish for more information and I will be happy to share. It was my first visit today and I needed a mental health care plan. The GP told me "that's not how it's done", that I needed to have several visits to see him first because I'm "unknown" to him. Once he knew me better, he could be "convinced" that I needed mental health support (his actual words). He proceeded to ask me what my mental health conditions were and WHY I had them. I responded with: emotional problems (that's all I was willing to share since he was definitely not a safe person). He then pressed and pressed me to know why I had emotional problems. I was actually quite shocked. This is unsafe practice with people with mental health challenges. Once again, this is not a reflection of any other staff members there. The receptionists were very respectful. Michelle was especially kind and helpful and I'm very grateful."

"The practice is fantastic- as soon as I walked in the reception lady assisted me. I was hardly able to walk with my knee. She came to check on how long I had been waiting and followed up with the dr. The dr was fantastic and super caring and has a fantastic therapeutic way. He seemed to care and it was not just another medical appointment."

"Had an appointment for my 1 year with the Dr Sofia at the clinic today, they were running 20 minutes late (understandable). My daughter had a cough so we were asked to wait outside, rather then taking us inside to a confidential room we were assessed outside, around other patients and in the cold. No thorough assessment, very rude and lacked compassion. Didn’t want to listen to my daughters symptoms. Prescribed medications that were later deemed unnecessary, when we presented at the hospital as my daughter couldn’t get any relief. Won’t be returning."

"I walked in for my first time,. The staff was smiling and welcomed me. The staff are friendly approachable. I saw Dr Sophie, who was so lovely, took the time out to help me. She was on time as well. I would recommend this practice to anyone. You wont be disappointed."

"I'm so pleased I read other reviews of this Practice. My GP retired after 30 years in his care and I was very worried about finding a new place to go. The Reception staff are always welcoming and very helpful. The nurses are wonderful and I found a great GP I can talk to and he really genuinely cares. My husband and I tried a couple of other places in our area but very pleased to be patients at Family Practice at Burpengary."
