Welcome to Wilston Kids Care, a premier establishment located at 11 Primrose Street in Grange, Australia. At Wilston Kids Care, we believe that childhood is a precious time for play-based learning and development. Located within the Wilston State School grounds, Wilston Kids Care is operated independently by the Wilston State School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C Executives), who have full management control. The service is supported operationally by a General Manager, appointed as the Nominated Supervisor, and a diverse and experienced Management and Administration Team. Our team of educators brings various qualifications, experience, and knowledge to ensure a high-quality Outside School Hours Care Service.

We believe that children thrive and learn best when their interests and strengths are nurtured. That's why our educators implement an Inquiry-based, Emergent Style Curriculum as part of our Educational Program. This curriculum is based on and extends the children's interests at a certain time, allowing for individual and group components, intentional teaching, and child-directed play. This approach requires creativity and flexibility from our educators but maximizes learning outcomes and creates an exciting environment for the children.

To keep parents informed, we use the digital documentation platform Xplor Playground to document all the children's learning stories, observations, progress, and outcomes. Parents can easily access this information through the Xplor Home App, ensuring transparency and involvement in their child's development.

We also take our responsibility to promote healthy food habits and attitudes seriously. Working closely with families and educators, we positively influence each child's health and nutrition at home. Our menu is based on the Australian Dietary Guidelines and the Australian Government's Get Up & Grow: Healthy Eating and Physical Activity for Early Childhood. We believe that by providing a healthy diet, we contribute to the prevention of weight problems and nutrition-related chronic diseases, allowing children to thrive physically, socially, and intellectually.

During term time, the Wilston State School Tuckshop team prepares nutritious breakfast, afternoon tea, and late snacks for the children attending Wilston Kids Care. During Vacation Care, children are required to bring their own morning and afternoon tea, while we provide lunch every day. To ensure all children have access to clean drinking water, we have a Hydration Station conveniently located near the undercover area.

We encourage all children to bring a water bottle to the service, and our educators support them in taking regular fluid breaks and topping up their water bottles as needed. At Wilston Kids Care, we prioritize the overall well-being of every child in our care, ensuring they have a positive and enriching experience.
