At Journey Banyo, we pride ourselves on our modern facilities and beautifully landscaped native gardens. These gardens serve as the perfect backdrop for our little explorers who have a natural sense of curiosity and a yearning for adventure. Our spacious rooms open out onto the playground, encouraging indoor and outdoor playtime for our children. They absolutely love our alfresco style eating area with picnic-style benches, where every meal can be enjoyed on the patio under the cooling fans. Additionally, we have an outdoor, undercover space that is perfect for arts and crafts activities such as slime making, hand painting, and sensory play. Our children are encouraged to get messy, dig in the dirt, and play amongst the gardens. What little explorer wouldn't love that?

We believe in connecting with our local Banyo community, which is why we regularly undertake field expeditions. These expeditions include visits to Earnshaw State College for Fitness Fridays and swimming lessons in the summer. We also take our children to the local library on a fortnightly basis, allowing them to take part in learning and development programs. Moreover, we offer various sports and music activities for children of all ages, including Billy's Buddies and Music Beat. These programs enhance motor skills, boost confidence, and help children build strong friendships.

From the peek-a-boo stage to prep, we're here every step of the way. We prioritize school transition and work hard to ensure a smooth process. By providing a safe and secure environment, our children develop confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self, preparing them for the school journey ahead. Our Kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed to align with the Journey Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum, ensuring every child is prepared for school. These classrooms are run by ACCEQA approved Early Childhood Teachers and Qualified Educators. Children enrolled in our 4-Year-Old Kinder Program receive ongoing support from teachers through our School Readiness Program.

My name is Jes, and as the Centre Manager, I look forward to showing you through Journey Banyo and introducing you to our dedicated team. With almost 18 years of experience in the Early Childhood Sector across the northside of Brisbane, I hold a Diploma in Children's Services. I have had the opportunity to work closely with every age group in various roles, both in home care and long daycare settings. My passion for early childhood is evident through my philosophy and teaching beliefs, which focus on attachments, relationships with children, and seeing children as competent and capable in their world. I believe in strong partnerships with families to support children in reaching their full potential. It is our goal to ensure all families feel valued, respected, and at home while with us at Journey Banyo.

Children love getting out and exploring in nature, which is why nature-based play is a core part of our curriculum. We believe that nature is the greatest teacher, as it teaches vital life skills such as confidence, independence, exploration, and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and wellbeing and teaches children respect for the environment.
