About the Business
Welcome to Be Uplifted Inc, a prominent establishment and point of interest located at 194 Zillmere Road in Boondall, Australia. Our institution is dedicated to providing support and assistance to breast cancer patients and their families who face unique difficulties and disadvantages.
At Be Uplifted Inc, we offer a wide range of free support services and patient programs aimed at alleviating the challenges of breast cancer. We are proud to collaborate with Foodbank Queensland to provide 100 hampers just in time for Christmas, ensuring that families affected by breast cancer can enjoy the holiday season.
One of our notable initiatives is "Annie's Van," which brings uplifting experiences to the Be Uplifted Inc Breast Cancer Charity. Additionally, we offer Pamper for a Purpose Vouchers for purchase this Christmas, allowing individuals to treat themselves while supporting a great cause.
We also inform breast cancer patients and their families about electricity household concessions and rebates offered by the QLD Government, ensuring they can access the financial support they need during treatment.
Our motto, "People not Research," truly reflects our values at Be Uplifted Inc. We prioritize supporting women, men, and their families who have had their world turned upside down by a breast cancer diagnosis. To meet the growing demand, we have expanded our patient support services to include six local hospitals in Brisbane.
If you are interested in offering a helping hand, there are numerous ways to support us. Our dedicated volunteers create free crocheted breast prostheses in cup sizes ranging from A to DD. These Crocheted Knockers provide a soft and lightweight alternative to silicone prostheses, benefiting women during the healing process or those who cannot afford expensive permanent options.
All donations received by Be Uplifted Inc go directly towards making a difference in the lives of local Brisbane breast cancer patients. As a nonprofit charity organization, we rely on our volunteers to staff our institution. Every donation helps us provide practical and essential support services, including medications, medical tests, food, electricity, and phone bills.
You can find us at B1/194 Zillmere Rd, Boondall Q 4034. Our Op Shop is open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and Saturday, 9am to 2pm. We gratefully accept all donations from the Brisbane community during opening hours at both Op Shop locations.
Join our team of volunteers and be part of the uplifting journey at Be Uplifted Inc. We rely on the generosity of our community to continue our work, and together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer in Brisbane.

"Loved loved loved this store! I came with my husband and 2 of my daughters and we all were overwhelmed with how wonderful this store was! Amazingly low prices, very organized areas, clear pricing and lovely accommodating staff... We got many bargains including art for $7.50 that had a price tag of $150 initially, sports equipment for $4 that retails for at least $60 and they even had a wonderful array of handmade items for sale which is always lovely for gifts etc. We then went home satisfied and fueled to give, so filled our car full of stuff we no longer need or use to donate to them and I now we won't donate anywhere else. To support a breast cancer charity when it is something our family has gone thru multiple times, it felt like it was meant to be. We are looking forward to our next visit and we are still putting things aside to donate at our next trip past. Thank you to all the staff for such a wonderful job you are doing, I just wish I knew about your store before now because I would have been coming for years..."
"Happened upon this place while on my way somewhere. Massive size for an op shop. 2 levels of space with clothing separated upstairs. The sizes are organised separately on each rack. And well displayed by range such as dresses, skirts, activewear etc. Downstairs where you enter on street level is a range of items. Manchester, sporting, homewares, bric a brac, books, kids space ( sorted into books, toys etc) craft & many other items. There are also new items handmade to be purchased. This is a cancer charity business with its main aim to support those going through cancer diagnosis & treatment. They did have a markdown area where all clothing was $2. Pricing itself appeared to be all over the place. While pursuing the racks, listening to the people who work there, it appears they have tried to put in place a pricing system, but not sure a blanket approach works for everything. Regardless of my personal opinion, the money goes to a worthy cause & I still found a couple of good buys worth the trip. Parking is available onsite conveniently immediately next to building. Staff were extremely helpful & very pleasant to be served by."
"A nice op shop at Strathpine with lovely volunteers. However management treats mature age centrelink volunteers differently to retired volunteers. As a centrelink volunteer - If you speak up and query management practice, you are sacked. There is no induction, or conflict resolution. Centrelink volunteers have to deduct their 30 minute lunch time off hours worked which is not common practice for volunteers - but is for paid contractors and employees. Volunteers are not paid employees, so different legal rules apply. Also there is a lot of publicity for what this charity receives in donations, but not a lot of publicity for what is given as bequests to help the community. Not a good place to work if you are on Centrelink."
"This op shop feels like a hand crafter's dream or visiting the home of a matron. I love looking at the beautiful quilts, they are very well-made when you see them up close."
"This place is amazing! Staff great & goods for sale well priced. No bad smell or bugs around. Goods turnover is quick. Such a worthwhile charity helping people in Brisbane and totally volunteer run."
