About the Business
Welcome to Nudgee Recreation Reserve, located at Elliott Road in Nudgee, Australia. This establishment is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and sports lovers alike.
We are excited to announce the Nudgee Recreation Reserve improvement project, which commenced in late April 2022 and is being carried out by the Brisbane City Council. The project aims to remediate the former landfill site and reestablish the reserve for sport and recreation use. This initiative will not only enhance the reserve but also contribute to a cleaner and greener Brisbane, providing the community with more opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities.
With a rich sporting history dating back to the 1940s, the Nudgee Recreation Reserve has witnessed countless cricket and football matches over the years. The improvements planned for the reserve will address the need for additional sporting and recreation facilities in the area, ensuring that locals and visitors have access to top-notch amenities.
As part of the project, the reserve will feature new professional-grade sporting fields for touch football, cricket, and soccer. These state-of-the-art facilities will cater to athletes of all levels, from beginners to professionals. Whether you're looking to engage in a friendly game or participate in competitive sports, Nudgee Recreation Reserve will have something for everyone.
Construction works are scheduled to be completed by late 2023, subject to weather and site conditions. To minimize disruption, construction will primarily take place between 6.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday. However, some out-of-hours work may be necessary, and we will provide advanced notice of any night works or major access changes.
During the construction period, Nudgee Recreation Reserve will be temporarily closed for public access. However, rest assured that access around the worksite will be maintained to ensure convenience for nearby residents and visitors.
Please note that due to workplace safety regulations, reversing beepers cannot be switched off. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.
Rest assured that all construction works will be carried out in accordance with the relevant environmental guidelines. Brisbane City Council is committed to preserving the natural environment, and any impacts on vegetation will be offset in compliance with our environmental policies and legislative requirements.
We would like to express our gratitude for your patience and cooperation during this important project. We understand that these works may cause temporary inconveniences, but the long-term benefits will be well worth it.

Reviews
"The Brisbane city council plans to improve this former landfill site in 2022. The plan is to add sports and recreation facilities."
"Very convenient but looks like it might be built on land fill. Well done except a couple of breather pipes showing above surface."
"A large, unruly park located along the Downfall Creek bikeway and behind the Nudgee Railway Station. Looks neglected with defunct football ground, but popular with early morning dog walkers. A very large open space, with Nudgee Creek on one side."
"Great place to take dogs off leash, no fences but very wide open space. Regularly mowed by the council. Enough room to play a game of footy"
"Great big open flat area, I believe that there used to be an AFL field here. Good spot for dogs to run around."
