"I would never take an animal here again. My dog was very sick. It came on fairly suddenly and it was a holiday, so this place was the only one open nearby. I called ahead to see if they were open and was told of the exorbitant amount extra they get, for having a junior on, to see your pet on a holiday. When I arrived, this very young lady was there, by herself. She didn't look old enough to be fully qualified. She spent all of half a minute looking at my dog and told me she could give me the number of the RSPCA, so I could take him there immediately and have him put down. She further told me, that my dog would have been like this for at least a week and that he has really bad pneumonia, that would have gotten worse over time, in a really nasty tone of voice, I might add. I assured her that was not the case. I assumed she could not help us, so I picked my dog up, off of the table, and turned to walk out the door and go home, to see if I could ring around and find another place, a bit further afield. She then rushed at me and snatched my very sick dog from my hands and yanked him away from me. She told me you're not leaving without paying for my services. I was truly shocked at what she did and that a 30 second look, and a, put him down recommendation, would even be considered a service. I told her that, if I paid her, for not doing anything for my dog, I would find it very hard to pay some other place to look at them, as I was out of work at the time. She told me, if I didn't pay the holiday price for an examination immediately, she was ringing the police, all while she was speaking really angrily at me, and swinging my very ill dog around. It was truly shocking, I was at a loss for words. I told her what I thought of her actions, then, I paid them, and went home, I was not able to find another vet, that I could get to, or one that had a payment plan. Booval vet had taken my last dollar, for doing nothing and giving me a completely wrong diagnosis, not to mention spoke to me like I was an animal abuser. I called the AWL again and was told by holiday staff at the Tiger Street Animal Welfare League that they would be open in the morning and to bring him in then as soon as they opened. They immediately discovered two paralysis ticks on him, one just inside his bum and the other under his eyelid. They removed them and gave him tick antivenom and he turned around overnight and came home the next morning and is now 15 years old and very happy and healthy years later. I called Booval Veterinary Clinic the day I brought my dog home and told them what had happened and they just were like hmm oh well. No offer of a refund or anything. They robbed me and nearly led to my dog dying. I would like to hope this is an isolated incident, but the reaction I got after calling in , I have to say, it seems like they just don't care at all. Stay far away if you love your pet."
"You can’t be ten minutes late even if could be a life threatening appointment. Even tho you’ve rang up saying you’re physically unable to move due to a back so your father with dementia is on his way. Just to get blood taken. Tegan was the one on reception and just said what do you expect me to do about it. How about tell the next patients owners they may be 5 - 10 minutes behind. Disgusting behaviour"
"I had to put down my friends cat due to bladder amd kidney issues. The team of vets amd nurses at Booval and Karalee have been so helpful. They called twice to 3 times a day to give me more information. We did recieve a few pictures from the team which was really appreciated. I really did feel like Marvin was taken care of. I really want to thank the vet Isabella, who really did her best. Thank you for your kind words and sweet reassuring voice. Even after our loss, thank you for the card and the kind words. Marvin will never be forgotten."
