Welcome to The Mix Bar, located in the heart of Woolloongabba, on Stanley Street. This newly opened art deco style bar is just a few minutes away from Brisbane CBD, making it the perfect spot to socialize and unwind in a classy setting.

Step into the elegant and opulent historic surroundings of the old Woolloongabba Post & Telegraph Office, which has been carefully preserved and is now heritage listed. Constructed in November 1905, this iconic building showcases hipped corrugated iron roofs and cement dressings, reflecting the architectural style of the early 20th century.

Designed by renowned architects Alfred Brady and Thomas Pye, the building is a testament to their skill and vision. It is one of only five masonry post offices constructed in Queensland between 1900 and 1910. Its construction was a response to the rapid expansion of the area and the emergence of a bustling retail hub at the intersection of Logan, Stanley, and Ipswich Roads.

In its early days, the building not only served as a post office but also housed residential lodgings for the Post Master. Over time, the building underwent various alterations to accommodate the changing needs of the post office. In 1988, it was refurbished, and the first floor was leased to the Genealogical Society of Queensland until recently.
