About the Business
Welcome to Arakan Martial Art Self Defence, located in Upper Coomera, Australia. At our establishment, we prioritize your health and safety while providing a fast, powerful, and dynamic self-defence style that is effective on the streets.
In today's society, it has become essential to possess the skills to protect ourselves and our loved ones, and that is exactly what we teach at Arakan Martial Art. Our techniques are efficient, practical, and easily adaptable to the modern world. We equip you with the knowledge, strategies, and mindset to take control of any street situation quickly and effectively.
Arakan Martial Art has its roots in a traditional Burmese martial art, with our founder, Master Robert Kyaw, having a direct lineage to this ancient discipline. Throughout his lifetime, Master Kyaw has adapted this traditional style to suit the urban environment, resulting in a fast and effective self-protection style perfectly suited for the modern world.
Please note that all our training has been adjusted to comply with current government regulations regarding hygiene and social distancing, ensuring a safe environment for our students.
We are proud to share the testimony of one of our students in Sydney, Aaron Moses, who has experienced incredible personal growth since starting his Arakan training. Aaron's motivation, positive attitude, and dedication have inspired this student to quit smoking, engage in regular exercise, and become fitter than ever before. The impact of Aaron's teaching and guidance has been life-changing for this individual, and we believe it is important for our management, especially Rob, to know the exceptional job Aaron is doing.
At Arakan Martial Art Self Defence, we strive to improve lives through our training. Join us on this transformative journey and experience the physical and mental benefits of our self-defence techniques.

Reviews
"I started training Arakan last year at a very difficult period in my life & it‘s supporting me on my healing journey - physically, mentally, & emotionally. I’m even training with a ‘frozen’ shoulder! Abi is an amazing trainer, a wonderful mix of strength and compassionate attunement, giving me that push I need. Everything about Arakan just feels right, from the art itself, to it’s culture & members. I can’t recommend it highly enough!"
