"From 10 yr old: I liked how everyone was joining in and the songs weren't too crazy. Everyone was nice there. Floor is lino tiles and cold which I like. It has air-conditioning."
"I had a child telling me she doesn't like dancing, she said this is nothing for her anymore. Because she gained weight she had no friends and got bullied at school. I told her she should go dancing again. She did this as she was young and loved it, till the teacher she had at the Gold Coast told her that she is to fat for dancing. My daughter triend to refuse going to Island Dance because she thought she will have the same experience again. I called them and had a very nice talk with Island Dance about my child and her needs. They said just come over and we will manage to help you. So we did and in the beginning my 12 year old was hiding behind me and saying she wants to go home, now. So one of the teachers saw us and straight jumped into the room made jokes and went to my child talking to her. She made her come for a trial a few days later. After that my daughter was not that girl she was before. Now she is looking forward going to her lessons, she practise at home and loves it so much. She has lost weight and loves to see herself in the mirror again. Thanks Island Dance, you changed her life, and she is so happy now. I am so glad I pushed her to just trying it out.
