"Although My daughter does not attend Sandgate high, she goes to Aspley State High but every Tuesday travels to Sandgate high to play football, and most times she has gone to the bathrooms, people are vaping and wagging, a couple of times she has even gotten offered a vape."
"School has culture and tradition - "Deagon Grammar" as students affectionately called it when I taught there many years ago in the 90s. I hear from ex colleagues and students that it is still a great school striving to give students a balanced education."
"From being there and experiencing first hand will say new leadership/policies are moving the school forward. New principal listens and takes feedback onboard and from when I first started at SDSHS it's good to see a progressive future. If you had a problem and went a sat down with principal/deputy principal/support workers they will genuinely try their best to address it. You get some teachers you don't like or feel you don't get along with but I guess no matter what school you go to there's always people you won't get along with. Wishing the best to future cohorts."
"kicked out a homeless mentally ill neurodivergent minor. also why were there no tables for lunch i had to sit on the crusty gum pavement for 6 years"
"I went here from 2017-2020 this school was so bad, there was always fights between students and teachers weren’t much help i had to drop out in 2020 because my mental health got so bad from going to school, I would throw up just thinking about going to school in the morning i tried to get help from the guidance counsellor at the time and she said just put up with it and didn’t give me any help at all. Students were so mean towards each other always putting each other down and teachers didn’t care at all out of my whole time there i only met 3 good teachers who actually cared about your education and well-being"
