About the Business
Welcome to Lyrebird Restaurant, located in the vibrant South Brisbane on Grey Street. As an establishment, food, and point of interest, we are proud to be a part of the renowned Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC).
At Lyrebird, we offer a contemporary menu and impeccable service, ensuring that your QPAC experience begins on a high note. Whether you're attending a performance or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, our restaurant is the perfect place to start your evening.
As you indulge in the flavors of Italy, prepared by our passionate chefs led by our head chef from Rome, you can soak in the lively atmosphere of Cascade Court and anticipate the night ahead. The ambiance is enhanced by a series of contemporary indigenous artwork by renowned artists such as Michael Nelson Jagamara, Gloria Petyarre, and Joanne Currie Nalingu. These artworks tell the story of QPAC's connection to the local Indigenous population and Brisbane's heritage, reflecting an authentically Australian aesthetic.
To add a touch of elegance to your matinee show, we also offer a Lyrebird High Tea experience. For just $25 per person or $30 per person including a glass of bubbles, you can enjoy a delicious pre-show treat.
We recommend allowing at least 2 hours to fully savor your dining experience. Please note that our hours of operation may vary due to the nature of a performing arts venue.
In addition to providing a delightful dining experience, Lyrebird Restaurant is proud to support QPAC and its mission. There are various ways you can contribute, such as leaving a legacy, partnering with us, or making a donation to support the creation of more local works and life-changing experiences. By donating to QPAC, you help foster a more creatively engaged society and a more connected community.
As we celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Australia, we pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land. Their spirits and legacy inspire and empower current and future generations, both First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, in our collective endeavor to create a better Queensland.

Reviews
"We booked for 5 o'clock so we could relax before the show. We were seated and had water served to all 6 of us but we had to ask a waiter to serve us. We finally got our meals but we only had 10 minutes to eat it. Some at the table were having dessert so once again we had to ask them to hurry up. The food was amazing and worth the wait but when it's a pre show dinner I would have liked to be able to stroll into the theatre not rush for programs and seat's. Would go again food was delicious."
"Extremely disappointed about our allergy experience. I noted on our booking a few months in advance that my partner has a tree nut allergy. For the high tea, they brought him the same vegetable croquette for every item he couldn't have. Desserts? Veggie croquettes. Savories? Veggie croquettes. And it was all identical croquettes. We gave months of advance warning and that's the best they could do? He has never been so poorly treated at a high tea before (we go to them often). 0/10, will not be back. Literally half his meal was vegetable croquettes."
