Welcome to the Old Museum Brisbane, a historic institution located in Bowen Hills on Gregory Terrace. As an establishment and point of interest, we offer a unique and versatile venue for a wide range of events and performances.

Our Concert Hall is a theatre-style room that can be adapted to suit various needs. With a capacity of 440 seats, it is ideal for theatre productions, dance performances, music concerts, seminars, public lectures, conferences, dinners, and more. The space can also be reconfigured for displays, dances, or dining experiences. When you hire the venue, it comes set up in standard theatre mode, but we can accommodate different layouts upon request.

Supporting facilities for the Concert Hall include a backstage area, dressing rooms, and a ground floor foyer reception. The reception area is perfect for pre-show drinks and canapés, adding a touch of elegance to your event. The stage itself is raised and measures 23m x 9.5m, providing ample space for performers to showcase their talents.

In addition to the Concert Hall, we also offer three Heritage Studios. These studios are perfect for rehearsals, intimate performances, meetings, seminars, workshops, and private functions. Each studio is spacious and private, and they can be hired individually or consecutively. All studios lead to a full-length balcony that overlooks our beautiful heritage gardens, adding a touch of serenity to your event.

Our studios can be set up according to your specific requirements, whether you prefer a U-shape layout, classroom style, square shape, workshop setup, dinner arrangement, or theatre-style seating. Whatever your needs may be, we are here to accommodate them.

At the Old Museum, we also acknowledge and pay respect to the Turrbal and Yugara, the First Nations owners of the lands where our institution now stands. These lands, known as Barambin, have always been places of gathering and celebration. We honor their Elders, lores, customs, and creation spirits.
