"Love, love, love that the cinema at The Strand is back and buzzing. We sat in the brand new recliner seats to watch Barbie. It was such a pleasant way to watch a great movie. The picture quality was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful and the cinema clean."

"*Support worker writing this review* Strand cinema don’t accept companion cards for “new movies”. Usually when you go to the movies it’s for a new movie so I don’t really get it. Are clients forced to wait until the movie is old so their carers can take them? I was told that my company should be paying for me to come to the movies with my client. I don’t think they know how the NDIS works or what company’s are like. Disability companies wouldn’t pay for hundreds of their employees to attend the movies sometimes up to three times a week with their disabled clients, when the client has a companion card. I understand that it is only $10 for a ticket but we are the ones bringing clients to the cinema. If nothing changes here then we all might as well continue to go to event cinemas or bcc cinemas where companion cards are accepted with any movie/ any time. Too many places are now trying to avoid why companion cards were introduced, for the reason of gaining free entry for the carer of the person with the disability. If it weren’t for us assisting them, they wouldn’t be able to come to the movies! I’m only writing this to try and change this as they will lose a huge chunk of clientele within the disability population as their carer won’t be able to get in while they are working. Other than that it is a great cinema but just need this area addressed. Thanks"
