"Myself and my partner originally planned to stay at The Deck for two weeks as we arrived in Brisbane and ended up staying four months because Sue and Rob were extremely accomodating, friendly and easy to communicate with. "I really couldn't have been any happier with this place. I liked it so much that I lived there for just over three years after returning to Australia from overseas, and I finally left only because I moved into my own apartment. Without a doubt, the best thing about the Deck Budget Accommodation is Rob and Sue, the married couple who own and run the business. They also live right next door, which I found very comforting, given that this was my first experience living in share accommodation. Rob and Sue are a lovely, friendly, intelligent and very caring couple. I'm also pleased to say that they always promptly responded to any requests to fix anything that might go wrong (like light bulbs needing to be replaced), and it was great that they took such care of the property and the gardens. If you're looking for an inexpensive and pleasant place to live, and enjoy the thought of mixing in (if you want to) with the people from all walks of life who share the property, then this is definitely the place for you. I thoroughly recommend it."

"I stayed here because the other place I was residing had closed down for renovations, and needed to find somewhere quickly because the residents including myself were not given much notice. The Deck is situated within walking distance of Fortitude Valley and there is a lot of public transport which is close-by and easily accessible. A fairly quiet and easy-going place, with some rooms having their own small kitchenettes. The manager is very friendly and she does well at looking after the place. There's a fairly large garden out the back, with several seating areas where some can smoke (as smoking is not allowed indoors which I think is fair enough) and others can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. If you ask you may even be allowed to assist with garden maintenance or other little bits and pieces. I would definitely recommend this place for those looking for a quiet, average place to stay while working/studying."

"Highly recommended as clean, comfortable accommodation in a terrific position -- walk to Fortitude Valley and Brisbane City ... and buses a few metres away. Run by a friendly family who go out of their way to accommodate you. Great backyard with BBQ and seating, and you are invited to help yourself to home grown herbs, fruit and veg."
