"Recently stayed 7 nights in 1 bed luxury suite. Very spacious ,nicely furnished, comfortable King Bed. Great views along River 2 ways from my 20th floor room. All staff very friendly and helpful. Great location for walking to a lot of things to check out--even for this pensioner. Pity no shuttle bus service from Airport to different Hotels etc. Mid day taxi cost $61 and a 4am departure taxi to Domestic Terminal $68. Would stay again and /or try Meriton in other States. One negative for a 5* Hotel was the windows being siliconed around frame to cut out wind/breeze whistling!!"
"We booked a five night stay and weren't terribly happy with the experience given this is supposed to be an 'upmarket option'. A few things we noticed: - Our first allocated room we had when we first walked in it felt like a Sauna. Looking at the air-con temperature gauge it said "29c". It appeared the Air Con was not working. To their credit, Meriton immediately changed our room though it felt like a downgrade from a room and view perspective. When we brought this up to the front desk, the response was 'we'll get back to you'. I am still awaiting feedback. - Onto the second allocated room (which we were in for the duration of our stay) and the Air Conditioning was locked at 22c. This would be OK, though there are no balcony's and the room windows are all locked. Meaning no fresh air can come into the room and made it very stale. - The rooms are very outdated and 'cheap'. The TV in the loungeroom seemed like an Aldi brand and hardly worked. The bed was extremely hard (more harder than normal hotel beds). No bath and a massive laundry just seems like a waste for a 'couples king room' (OK for a family multi-room). Could be combined to make it much more luxurious. - There has been no disclosure about a construction zone across the road. Yes this is not their fault, but be warned it goes late into the night and is very loud. - Bathroom wise whoever installed the Shower did not do this to code. The water stop (if there is one) in the shower is terrible and the bath mat will not stop the water getting throughout the bathroom and making it dangerously slippery. - Parking is $40 a night, which I don't mind if it is not over booked. We were lucky on two occasions where we got the very last park as they only allow for around 20-25 spaces total. On the Friday night we got the very last park and saw a car coming down looking for a spot. We told them politely that there was none left and they told us they just arrived and bought the pass. They were furious. We also heard someone complaining the next night as well in the Lobby. So it appears this is not tracked properly and they will sell you a car pass for a potentially full car park! - Last and the biggest gripe was the house cleaning and cleanliness. We understand this is a 'serviced apartment' but this was way below acceptable. When we arrived we were told that for a five night stay we would only be getting one room service cleaning on the Friday, three nights after arrival. Coming into the room we noticed the carpet had not been vacuumed properly, stains on the benchtop and a used bloody band-aid under the couch. When the Friday came and it was the day of the clean. We arrived back and were shocked that the only two things done was our bed re-made (sheets not replaced) and our towels replaced. They had not vacuumed the floor, wiped the counter tops, replaced the missing toilet paper and tissues and best of all that band-aid was still there! To be fair to Meriton the location proximity is very good. Though that's the only positive I can find. I think this hotel was once good, maybe COVID hit too hard? If you look at the Google Reviews and sort by 'Most Recent' I can see a lot of similar ratings compared to prior to COVID. I am trying to provide feedback to help, though it was not a pleasant stay and I have stayed in much better recently (some even cheaper!). This has severely tarnished my trust in Meriton and I will not be using them for business travel and advising my peers as well which is sad as I liked Meriton. Though for the amount paid and disappointment encountered, I don't think I can come back."
"Someone walked in our room at 9:30pm….. We had a nice stay at the Meriton Brisbane. Room was very spacious and clean. They allowed for an early check in which was very nice of them. The hotel is in a great location. Reception was very friendly when checking in. The strangest thing happened at 9:30pm. A man knocked on our door and opened it straight away, Then saw my husband and quickly left. My husband ran after him to ask who he was and what was he doing opening our door. We did NOT ask for a service or anything to be delivered. There was no apology or explanation. He was in plain casual clothing with a clipboard. No name badge or hotel uniform. We got his name and turns out he works there. We rang reception and let them know but we don’t know if anything was reported. We checked out and mentioned it again as there was no record on our account and again we don’t know if it will be reported. We stay in a lot of hotels around the world and this has never happened to us ever. Being in casual clothes, we did not know if this person worked for the hotel or not. It was extremely dodgy. I am writing it here so it is known of what happened and I hope the hotel makes their workers wear uniforms, a name badge and double checks room numbers before just letting themselves in unannounced. It is not a cheap hotel. Other than this, it was a nice stay."
"This is the 2nd time here. We were here in 2016 and the customer service was great. We were on the lower level and could hear the traffic so we got moved to a higher level. PLEASE NOTE there is building works across the road for sometimes during the day and night. NO FAULT OF THE HOTEL. Positive I rang and asked for an early check-in but was warned of the noise. I originally had a room with a river side view on a high level but asked for a quiet room. Lower level away from the construction. POSITIVE ROOM WAS BIG and SPACIOUS And VERY CLEAN."
"Location is great and only a short walk to general cbd or southbank areas when you want to see/do things. Located in a quieter part of town (especially on weekends the local area is completely dead - as it's close to law courts etc). Room was spacious and climate control was great with separate bedroom and general area air conditioning to adjust. Everything was very clean. Great water pressure as well. Sauna was also a great feature of the stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for anything more."
