"Dr Karen Kan is a wonderful pediatric dentist who really cares about her patients. She is excellent with children and explained everything to my son so he could understand and then again in detail to me. We first saw Dr Karen around 2 years ago when my son needed to have crowns on some of his teeth, this was done under general anesthetic and was defiantly the best option for him. With the amount of work to be done and at the age of 6, he would not have coped if this was done in the chair. Now two years later, even after moving to Tassie we decided to come back to Dr Karen for a follow up procedure, this time it was able to be done in the chair. All of the staff were great on the phone assisting me with organising appointments to line up with our time in Melbourne. We received follow up phone call to check on my son and I was very happy with the level of care and professionalism from Dr Karen and her team. Thanks so much! "I am so grateful Dr. Karen Kan was recommended to us by a friend (as a third opinion). She is the most thorough and professional dentist I have encountered, and leads an incredibly competent, caring and dedicated team of assistants, including Margaret at the front desk. Our 6 year old daughter required several root canals and crowns under a general anaesthetic, which was a stressful time for us all. Dr. Kan is extremely knowledgeable and provided us with extensive information about the dental issue, treatment, risks, prevention, as well as pre-operative preparation (providing age-appropriate information to our young daughter prior to the general anaesthetic) and post-operative care. She was reassuring, and her interaction with our little one was commendable- at all times I felt like our daughter was in very capable hands. Our daughter experienced negligible discomfort after the procedure and didn’t even require Panadol. We also found the cost of the dental work reasonable in comparison to other clinics we had visited for an opinion. "I agree with most other parents here. This dentist does NOT explain the procedure with risk v benefits and other options accurately. I let it slide the first time and ignored other dental opinions due to her credentials. She ALWAYS wants to do procedures under general anaesthetic - The second time we sought a second opinion and it saved us from an unnecessary anaesthetic and likely from unnecessary additional procedures Her reception staff and nurse were lovely. But I can NOT in good conscience, recommend this practice."
