For your convenience, we offer mixed billing options. Bulk billing is available for concession card holders and children under 16 during our normal business hours. This means that if you have a valid Medicare card, you will not have any out-of-pocket costs for standard appointments during these hours, as Medicare will be billed directly.
However, please be aware that there may be out-of-pocket expenses for Commercial Driving Medical Assessments, Work Related Health Checks, and certain Surgical Procedures. We recommend contacting the practice for more information regarding these services.
Starting from 9th February 2023, Mernda Regent Street Medical and Mernda GP Clinic will be transitioning to mixed billings. Bulk billing will be available for concession card holders and children under 16 from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm, excluding public holidays. All other patients will be required to make payment at the time of consultation. Please note that appointments on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays will attract a fee for everyone.
We understand that healthcare costs can be a concern for many individuals and families. Therefore, we strive to provide transparent pricing information. For standard consultations, the cost is $60, with a rebate of $41.20 from Medicare. This results in an out-of-pocket expense of $18.80. For long consultations, the cost is $100, with a rebate of $76.70, and an out-of-pocket expense of $20.30 during normal business hours. On weekends and public holidays, the fees are slightly higher, with a standard consultation costing $75 and a long consultation costing $110.
Please note that these pricing details are subject to change, and we recommend contacting our clinic for the most up-to-date information.
At Mernda Regent Street Medical, we are committed to providing exceptional healthcare services to our community. We value your trust and look forward to serving you and your family's medical needs.

"Fantastic service every time. Personable, helpful, knowledgeable drs and awesome receptionists who have the tough job of dealing with some grumpy customers (like tonight!)."
"I used to like this place when Dr Tijani was the main guy here. When he didn't know something he would say that he didn't have experience in that area. Little things like that helped. I called for a telehealth, and they said telehealth is only for results for a particular doctor. Ok, no worries I had actual results to go through. But then that would be charged the same as any consult. Still fine, but I should have the ability to then use that as an actual consult. I needed a script. A normal repeat script. I was told I would not be allowed to ask for that. Now before you think this is some random angry rant, I'm a fairly regular educated person who holds a fairly senior position in a multinational organisation. I consider myself extremely reasonable. But this just put a foul taste in my mouth. I've previously walked in here for a 2 second script before. The doctor spent the rest of the consult talking about his property portfolio with me and we discussed interest rates and dodgy real estate agents. Bang, got charged a long consult. Ridiculous. By the way, the doctor is good at actually being a doctor. No bad words about that. It's the ethics of the practice that get to me. I understand the entire " we only get X amount per consult from the government", but c'mon, let me ask for a script. I'm heading off to some online service for that now. Technology is about to put a massive dent in the super clinic business model."
"Don't come here if you are a veteran as it's apparently too hard for these doctors to go through your medical files. Dr Shanti has failed to complete paperwork for me on multiple occasions despite having a full medical file on hand. Remember they only like the easy jobs where they don't need to read through files. Useless."
"Went to see Dr Ahmed for the first time yesterday and he was very patient, which made me feel I was being listened to. The reception staff were also very welcoming and helpful. Lovely clean clinic and will be back."
