"You pay your taxes and a hefty Medicare fee and one day when you absolutely need you attend the emergency department at what you thought was a public hospital only to find out much later when the bill arrives that it is no longer a public hospital. At the time I was not informed nor was it made clear in any way that I was attending a private hospital with it's associated fees. In any other setting it would be called extortion."
