Welcome to South Gippsland Hospital, located at 87 Station Road in Foster, Australia. As an essential establishment, we prioritize the health and well-being of our community. After three years of managing the COVID-19 pandemic with strict access rules, we have decided to adopt a risk-based approach to COVID-19 controls, effective Monday 28 August 2023.

Following external benchmarking and internal consultation with our Operational Management Team, we will implement a traffic-light system to assign a Green, Amber, or Red status. This system will inform the actions to be taken by our staff, volunteers, and visitors. The assigned color will depend on various elements related to the COVID-19 situation in our community, including the number of affected staff and patients. Please note that these actions will be in addition to our existing rigorous controls for suspected or positive COVID-19 cases.

We anticipate starting off as Green on Monday, but as the situation may change at any point, we recommend checking our website or Facebook page for updates (status to be pinned to the top).

At South Gippsland Hospital, we are proud to offer the Positive Ageing Service (PAS), a free Advocacy and Allied Health service available to individuals aged 65 years and above (or 50 years and above for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders). The PAS comprises a Positive Ageing Advocate, a social worker, a dietitian, and an exercise physiologist, all available four days a week. You can access these services at our Community Health Centre or even in the comfort of your own home.
