About the Business
Welcome to Steven Albert Psychologist Psychotherapist - Primavera, located at 14 Guilfoyle Avenue in Double Bay, Australia. Our establishment is a point of interest in the health field, providing highly experienced and authentic psychotherapy and mindfulness meditation training.
Our primary goal is to help individuals reduce stress, enhance psychological flexibility, rebalance their lives, revitalize their well-being, and ultimately, grow and flourish. With a compassionate approach, we offer the art of psychotherapy as a personalized blend of practical awareness, insight, and personal development skills to alleviate suffering and facilitate authentic self-realization.
In addition to individual psychotherapy, our psychologist, Steven Albert, has extensive experience in managing teams of clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, and nurses in the delivery of community mental health programs. He has also designed, managed, and facilitated major mental health therapy programs and clinical teams in both public and private hospitals. Moreover, he provides supervision and training to psychologists and psychiatrists, and is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at UNSW, actively involved in research into advanced therapeutic processes and the training of clinical psychologists and psychiatrists in these psychotherapeutic approaches.
Beyond his expertise in the mental health field, Steven Albert has also worked as an organizational development consultant, management consultant, cultural change consultant, and executive development coach in corporate settings. His diverse experiential and theoretical background, combined with a pragmatic focus, allows him to provide practical solutions that are most useful to his clients.
Steven's true passion lies in helping individuals ease suffering, gain insight, and live meaningful, creative, loving, and fulfilling lives. His background in humanistic and positive psychological approaches values and respects the whole person, offering an evidence-based, process-oriented therapy. This therapy is crafted into a personalized approach that artfully blends mind, emotions, and values to minimize suffering, develop and strengthen psychological resilience and flexibility, and enhance the authentic expression of one's full potential.
Steven works with adolescents, adults, and couples who are struggling with emotional or behavioral issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, grief, emotion dysregulation, substance abuse, trauma, or relationship difficulties. He also provides personal, professional, or executive coaching to individuals seeking to accelerate the development of a richer, more balanced, and meaningful life. Additionally, he assists creatives such as designers, artists, musicians, singers, actors, and filmmakers in navigating the challenges of their personal practice and professional life.
Sessions with Steven can be conducted in person or through telehealth platforms like "zoom" or over the phone, making it accessible for clients who are interstate, traveling, or living overseas.
Steven's process-based psychotherapy utilizes a customized blend of integrative evidence-based practices, always taking into consideration the unique needs and perspectives of each individual. While incorporating diagnostic perspectives, he focuses on working with the whole person to address mental health challenges.
Each standard session with Steven is approximately 50-60 minutes long. Referrals from a physician are only required if you wish to apply for a Medicare or Health Insurance rebate. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) referral from your GP or a referral from your Psychiatrist, you are eligible to claim a rebate for a proportion of your fee from Medicare for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
