Our campus at Southbank shares its space with the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, allowing for collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas among students and faculty.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which the VCA stands, the Kulin Nations, specifically the Boonwurrung and Woi Wurrung people. We pay our respects to their ancestors and elders, who have nurtured and shared their rich artistic traditions on this land for thousands of years.
In addition to our commitment to traditional arts practices, the VCA recognizes the importance of supporting Indigenous artists. The Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development, housed within the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, works closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to provide opportunities for Indigenous artists to refine their skills and pursue academic excellence.
Whether you are interested in dance, film and television, music theatre, production, theatre, visual art, or writing, the VCA offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate study options. Our programs are designed to equip students with the skills, training, and education needed to make a positive impact in the arts industry and build sustainable careers.

Reviews
"As a past graduate, I can honestly say that studying here killed all of my passion for my craft, along with many students I studied with. The environment is aggressive bordering on abusive, with the egotistic staff being at the heart of the appalling culture the VCA harbours. There are some fantastic staff but they are few and far between, with the polarising discrimination and elitism leaving student welfare and the ability to receive a fair and thorough education completely impaired."
"My mum used to live in Melbourne. She used to go to ballet there in 1995 and 1996."
"Because I love art but I will get tired from walking on lots of stairs to go to art class if I was there"
"A university that promotes racism and bigotry, especially to those of mixed-European, Anglo-Saxon or Asian heritage. Staff and faculty have condoned the behavior and are unwilling to discipline the students involved. If you think your children are entering a safe and welcoming atmosphere, a simple google search will reveal otherwise. The absolute cowardice and incompetence of the staff is almost as infuriating as the actions of the student dance group. If this school receives tax-payer funding, it should be suspended immediately."
"Melbourne is where I should be now. Teaching young thespians' the many ways a director and cast can take in my opinion the best play Shakespeare penned to paper. I fell in love with the theatre and all things British. We were young full of life. My young man of the time was Jonathan Lee. We had great times but where I was in love he was not. His family were related to Errol Flynn. A great actor of his time. Jonathan is a published author well read last living in Kent. I came to America broken hearted never to return to Australia again. The Victorian Collage of The Arts I have not set foot in since the early 80's. I love it still"
