Welcome to the Gippsland Sports Academy, a premier establishment located in Newborough, Monash Road, Australia. Since its establishment in 1997, the Gippsland Sports Academy has been dedicated to providing developmental opportunities for talented athletes in the Gippsland region. As a community-based organization, we aim to empower local athletes and help them reach their full potential within their own community.

Covering the six Gippsland Municipalities all the way to the New South Wales border, the Gippsland Sports Academy serves as a hub for aspiring athletes seeking to excel in their respective sports. With over 150 athletes benefiting from our services each year, we take pride in nurturing talents who are on the cusp of international recognition. Many of our athletes have proudly represented Victoria and Australia in various sporting events.

Notably, the Gippsland Sports Academy has played a pivotal role in producing outstanding swimmers, including an Olympian and five Paralympians. Our distinguished Patron, Ashley Delaney, a Silver medal Olympian and World Champion Swimmer, leads our Swimming Program. Recently, Emily Beecroft and Ruby Storm, who were part of our GSA Swim program, showcased their skills and secured medals at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and the 2022 World Para Swimming Championships. Both athletes also competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, with Emily bringing home more medals for our region.

Our commitment to excellence extends beyond swimming. Our Clay Target Shooters have also made their mark on the international stage. Lucas Furlan, a current GSA athlete, represented Australia as part of the Australian Junior Universal Trench Team in Italy for the World Championships. Past athlete Renae Jones competed at the Italian Open Green Cup, further highlighting the caliber of talent fostered by the Gippsland Sports Academy.

The Gippsland sporting community heavily relies on the GSA to overcome obstacles and disadvantages faced by local athletes, such as travel limitations, lack of access to elite level coaching, and development programs. With a region known for its passionate sporting culture and an abundance of natural talent, the Gippsland Sports Academy plays a vital role in supporting and nurturing the next generation of sporting stars.

In recognition of the financial barriers that may hinder young athletes from pursuing their dreams, the Gippsland Sports Academy also provides grants to assist them in their sporting endeavors. We believe in creating a level playing field and ensuring that talent and dedication are not hindered by financial constraints.
