Welcome to Goju Karate Gladstone Park! Located in the City of Hume, Victoria, our establishment is dedicated to the practice and tradition of goju karate. Established in 1996, we have been following the teachings of Hanshi Tino Ceberano, who introduced goju karate under the name of International Goju Karate (IGK) many decades ago.

At Goju Karate Gladstone Park, we offer a range of classes for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Our Little Ninjas class is specifically designed for children aged 4 to 6 years old. In this class, we focus on building confidence, coordination, and teaching respect and manners. Through progressive movements, we introduce the little students to the art of self-defense while emphasizing control, focus, and discipline. All of this is done in a fun and respectful environment, where they also learn to respect other students. As they progress, they will eventually integrate into the junior karate classes.

Our junior karate classes are for students aged 6 years and above, depending on their basic skills necessary to participate in more advanced conditions. In these classes, students are introduced to basic Kata Forms, which teach them fundamental karate techniques in a controlled and respectful manner. We also emphasize awareness, both in the dojo (club) and outdoors.

For more advanced juniors, we offer classes that focus on higher-level Kata Forms, basic techniques, and free-style fighting (Kumite). The level of training in these classes is more intense, with a strong emphasis on technique and control. Black belts and higher-colored belts are encouraged to assist with the training and development of students below them.

Our black belt preparation class is designed for students who are preparing for their black belt. The training in this class is of a higher level and intensity, with a strong focus on technique and control. Students are encouraged to participate in fighting (Kumite) to demonstrate their abilities acquired over years of training. Protective gear is required at all times during sparring. Before moving up the belt ladder, students must attend a grading and pass the requirements for their level to be awarded their next colored belt.
