About the Business
Welcome to Eileen Seah Psychology, a trusted institution located at 27 Portman Street in Zetland, Australia. We specialize in providing expert psychological services to help individuals overcome anxiety, perfectionism, stress, grief, and related issues. Our dedicated clinical psychologist, Eileen Seah, creates a supportive and confidential environment for adult clients to learn strategies and skills designed for a more fulfilled and meaningful life.
Eileen is not only a highly experienced clinical psychologist but also an approved supervisor by the Psychology Board of Australia. She offers supervision to registered psychologists, clinical psychology registrars, provisional psychologists under the higher degree program, and even provides concessional rates for clinical psychology registrars. With her affable and engaging nature, Eileen guides supervisees in self-reflective practice while equipping them with professional skills and knowledge in adult therapy, often using humor to create a comfortable and enjoyable learning experience.
In addition to her clinical work and supervision, Eileen also provides outreach services and delivers professional development training to diverse audiences, including health professionals, psychologists, tertiary students, and members of the public. Her extensive experience in clinical teaching allows her to tailor each presentation to the specific needs of the audience, resulting in consistently positive feedback from attendees.
Drawing upon her years of experience in clinical practice, Eileen is highly proficient in using various therapeutic approaches in an integrative manner. Every client receives personalized treatment tailored to their individual needs, utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion-focused therapy, schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, emotion-focused therapy, and EMDR, among others. Her ability to apply a myriad of therapeutic modalities stems from her diverse background working in private practice, university, hospital, and community settings. Eileen's relaxed and non-clinical approach helps clients feel comfortable and confident in sharing their experiences.
Eileen's expertise in perfectionism is further enhanced by her PhD research at Sydney University. This knowledge allows her to effectively work with clients negatively impacted by unrelenting standards, providing them with the support they need to overcome these challenges.
At Eileen Seah Psychology, we believe that everyone should have access to quality, affordable psychological services. That's why our fees for a standard 50-minute session have been significantly reduced compared to the Australian Psychological Society's recommended fee. While a referral from a medical practitioner is not required for an appointment, most clients find they are eligible to receive a rebate from Medicare by presenting a referral letter and Mental Health Care Plan from their GP.
During the initial assessment session, our aim is to develop a shared understanding of your concerns, difficulties, goals, and expectations. Ongoing sessions last for 50 minutes face-to-face, with the remaining ten minutes used for record keeping, administrative tasks, and treatment planning. Our therapy approach focuses not only on eradicating difficulties but also on discovering what clients value most in life and overcoming barriers to living a fulfilling life. While most people find 6 to 15 sessions helpful, we offer both short-term and long-term options depending on your specific needs and desires.
If you're ready to take the first step towards a more fulfilled and healthy life, contact Eileen Seah Psychology today. We look forward to supporting you on your journey.
