"After being out of the country for several years and my previous doctor retiring I thought I would try a new doctor. I am now retired and thought I would try my local doctor. I have never been to a practice which is so money driven. From the moment you walk in the door you are hit with fees. Then they will not send me my results as I have to speak to the doctor and pay $80 to do so. I was told to make a "non urgent" appointment. If it is not urgent why can't you send me the results of 'MY' blood tests (note: you sent a previous blood test to me by email and I wasn't charged - was that because I wasn't changing doctors at that time or did the receptionist forget to charge me) I am changing Doctors now and wanted the blood results but they still did not want to give them to me so I could take them to the new Doctor. Instead they wanted another $22 to send over my files. I just find this practice mercenary. The doctor ordered 3 blood tests without telling me why. I received a call from the Secretary and each time I asked why am I doing these blood tests. Her easy response is she does not know. The Doctor could not even make a phone call to me to let me know the reason for these tests. You guessed it - if I wanted to know why I could make an appointment to speak to the doctor (virtually) and you guessed it - another $80. I guess I was spoilt by my previous doctor and so sad he retired. He made house calls when I was sick and could not get to the surgery. He gave me all the information I needed when getting tested and gave me my results over the phone (without a fee). It was only if the results had to be discussed/treated further, did I need to go in. I was never on the clock but when he was late he always apologised. At Kincumber Family Doctors there was never an apology as your time was not important to them. Yes I was annoyed when the receptionist would not send me my results and I guess she was just doing her job but you can imagine how frustrating it is to have to pay money to get a copy of your tests only to then take them to see my new doctor. Anyway , I have worked out I just need to go direct to the Lab to get the results. Do I want you to send my files to the new practice. I think I will wing it rather than spend another $22. My husband left the practice pretty soon after we arrived - now I understand why."
