"I have given Dr De Courcey a 1 star rating for a few reasons. We have seen him previously in relation to one of my children. He was able to provide what I needed however the only concern I had is he took he initiative to examine my child's genital area prior to informing myself as the parent or my child in order to gain verbal consent. We got past this as I could decipher that his approach was professional and nothing other. Again we required an appointment as my child has ongoing complex medical needs that require further investigation from a specialist in the field. As we had seen Dr De Courcey previously, I requested to see him again for the sake of him having a background on my child. When calling to make an appointment I spoke with a receptionist named Libby. Libby's phone manner is not particularly pleasant at this point but not worth raising any concern over. A few days prior to appointment I received a call from NSW Health advising that I had been a close contact for covid and needed to self isolate for 14 days regardless of the result. I tried to call the clinic however they must have been closed. Instead I sent through an email advising them of the current circumstances and requested a zoom consultation so that Dr De Courcey could physically sight some of the concerns I have for my child. I received no correspondence so I emailed again the day prior to consultation with screenshots of our covid test results to provide evidence of the circumstances. Still nothing so I called a few hours later and spoke again to the receptionist named Libby. As the frontline representative of Dr De Courcey's business I would assume that her phone manner would be pleasant as we are dealing with sick children here. Far from it. Libby was extremely rude and abrupt. She stated she would speak with Dr De Courcey in relation to a zoom consultation as he usually does phone consultations then would contact me back. I did not receive a call at all. Also wanting to mention when I expressed concerns for Leukemia with my child I was still spoken to like a peasant. As a person who works in healthcare, I am absolutely disgusted. It is now the day of consultation and I phoned back and once again spoke with Libby and mentioned that I hadn't received a call back and asked could she please let me know what was happening. Libby then blatantly lied and stated she tried to call me a few times and it rang out. I kindly explained that my phone has been by my side and I have not missed any calls nor has a voicemail been left. I asked Libby could she please read me out the number she had for me (I had double checked the day prior) Libby refused to tell me the number 3 times then demanded I tell her my number so she can tell me if she has made a mistake or not... I thanked her for her time and left it at that. So now my son will need to wait until December to get into another specialist/paediatrician. The other specialist receptionist has been lovely. I genuinely hope that no other family has this experience as it is not acceptable."
