About the Business
Welcome to the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS), located at Albert Park, Aughtie Drive, 31-33. As an establishment and point of interest, we offer a unique opportunity to meet Olympians, Paralympians, and World Champion athletes. At the VIS, you can learn from high-performance sport experts and experience the inner workings of our world-class facility.
Our Alumni group provides current and former athletes and staff with a continued connection to the VIS, ensuring they remain involved as part of our VIS family. We are proud to support all of our athletes as they pursue success in both sport and life.
As a scholarship holder at the VIS, you will receive the best possible integration of key athlete services. We take pride in the achievements of our many Olympic, Paralympic, and World Champions who have not only succeeded in sport but also in life. By joining our family, you will be among the first to receive all the latest news, videos, and tips from our leading experts.
One of our most prestigious accolades is the Award of Excellence, presented to a VIS athlete who has achieved outstanding sporting results while adopting a planned approach to sporting excellence and contributing to the promotion and development of their sport. Many outstanding athletes have won this award, making it the pinnacle of VIS Awards.
Father’s Day is a special time to appreciate and celebrate fatherhood and paternal bonds. Our very own VIS/AA National Generation 2032 Coach, Collis Birmingham, skillfully balances his professional career with parenthood, embodying the importance of fathers and father figures in our lives.
At the VIS, our athletes and staff are currently preparing for the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Since our inception in 1990, we have contributed to the success of 42 Summer Paralympic Champions, winning an impressive 56 gold medals across 9 sports.
We are also proud to highlight the achievements of Jemima Montag, who won Australia's first medal at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest by walking her way to silver in the women's 20-kilometer walk. Beyond her sporting accomplishments, Jemima is a natural born leader who shares her experiences with other young athletes while balancing a medical degree and passions outside of sport.
We are excited to announce that Olympian Hannah Every-Hall will be joining the VIS as the General Manager of High Performance. With her extensive experience as an athlete, coach, scientist, and manager, Hannah brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.
Lastly, the Victorian Institute of Sport acknowledges and respects the Traditional Custodians of the land we live and work on, the people of the Kulin Nation. We recognize their continuing connection to this land and waterways and pay our respects to their Elders, both past and present. This extends to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
Join us at the Victorian Institute of Sport and become part of our thriving community that celebrates excellence in sport and in life.
