About the Business
Welcome to White Card Werribee, located at 69 Synnot Street in Werribee, Australia. We are an establishment and a point of interest for anyone working on a construction site in Victoria. In fact, having a White Card is a legal requirement for anyone involved in commercial or domestic construction, painting, carpentry, bricklaying, concreting, tiling, plumbing, electrical work, and similar trades. Without a White Card, you will not be allowed to work on a construction site.
Completing a White Card course not only fulfills the legal requirement but also enhances your chances of finding work in the construction industry. Employers often prioritize candidates with White Card accreditation. Even if you are an Owner Builder undertaking a renovation project, your building site may be considered a "workplace" under OHS law. This applies if you are constructing any structure, such as an addition to your home or building a pool or garage.
To enroll in our course, the payment of $149 can be made by card on the day of the course. Our training sessions are held at various locations for your convenience. It is important for students to have sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills to read, write, understand English, and perform basic calculations.
Additionally, having a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number is mandatory to complete our course. The USI is a government initiative that records all nationally recognized training for individuals. It is free and easy to create, accessible online at any time, and remains with you for life. If you don't have a USI number, you can apply for one for free through the provided link.
Prior to attending the class, it is essential to have the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as it is part of the assessment to observe students correctly putting it on. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, PPE cannot be shared. You can purchase PPE from hardware warehouses like Bunnings or RSEA, or you have the option to buy it from us at check-in on the day for $25. Please ensure that your PPE meets Australian Standards, which are listed below.
At White Card Werribee, we are accredited by both the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and WorkSafe Victoria to deliver and issue the nationally accredited unit CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry and the Victorian White Card. Please note that online White Card courses or courses from non-approved Registered Training Organizations (RTOs) are not accepted by WorkSafe Victoria.
Upon completing the course, you will receive the National Statement of Attainment CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry and the Construction Induction Card issued by WorkSafe Victoria. The course covers various topics, including identifying health and safety legislative requirements, recognizing construction hazards and risk control measures, understanding health and safety communication and reporting processes, and identifying incident and emergency response procedures.
To attend this course, students must meet the necessary Language, Literacy, and Numeracy requirements as outlined above. Valid identification documents will also be required. For a list of acceptable forms of ID, please refer to the provided link for WorkSafe Victoria Proof of Identity Documents.
International students on a visa are welcome to undertake the White Card training with us. We strive to provide a comprehensive and informative course to ensure your safety and compliance in the construction industry.
